Cream Cheese Squares

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2013
This is good but using 16 oz. of cream cheese and a whole cup of sugar makes it a big gloppy diabetic-coma-inducing mess. The top is great but the bottom is soggy and more like crescent roll pudding. Will try again when my sugar coma wears off but will cut down on cream cheese and sugar.

Easy Lasagna II

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2013
Followed directions to the letter but turned out too soupy. All the water poured around the edges wound up on top and we had lasagna soup. LOL! I had a recipe years ago that called for assembling lasagna the night before so the noodles could soak in the sauce. I thought this may be a shortcut. But live and learn I guess. Won't be using this one again.

High Temperature Eye-of-Round Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2013
I guess I'm one of the unlucky ones with a dud oven even though it's electric. I followed to the letter with a 3 lb.roast. But the inside never got over 130 degrees. Would love to try this recipe again as I think it may work, but would like to hear what to do if your oven just doesn't retain the heat like the author's obviously does.

Crab Rangoon

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2012
I don't know what I did wrong but I couldn't get the wontons to seal. The filling was so thin and runny. Maybe I didn't drain the crab enough? Also they were not sweet at all like the restaurant's version. I wound up with a sheet full of burned bubbly crabby cream cheese leaking out of the wrappers. I will try again but will chill the mixture first and add a little sugar like I've seen in other recipes. Maybe will use surimi since it's sweeter than real crab.

Coconut Macaroons from White Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2012
These are easy and very good. When you use this recipe you probably should not expect something worthy of serving to guests, but if you just need a sweet coconut macaroon-y snack, these are the thing. Thanks for helping me use up my leftover condensed milk!

Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2012
Too sweet! Way too much honey. Might be really good with a lot less sweetness. May try again and cut it in half or less. Otherwise very easy and the thighs are tender and juicy if you don't cook too long.

Chili Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2012
Thanks for this. I needed some for vegetables tonight and had no idea how to make my own. This is fine the way it is but I may try it with the garlic etc. like others suggested too.

Smashed Cauliflower

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2011
TOO MUCH LIQUID! This is way too runny as written. I wish I had read the other reviews first but I followed the recipe to the letter. If I had drained the broth it would be good. As it was I wound up adding cream and just having it as cauliflower soup. Very good taste.

Tilapia with Creamy Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2011
Really? 1 minute 10 seconds for the cream cheese sauce?? Way way too much. I wasn't thinking at first and did that just like the recipe said. The cream and lemon juice curdled and I poured it down the drain. I did it again for about 15 seconds and it was great. Good taste overall. Will do it again.

Pasta with Thai-Style Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2011
Good and easy if you're in the mood for thai flavor and don't want to go to a lot of trouble. Unlike another reviewer I could tell that my family needed more chicken and less salt from the beginning so I made those adjustments. Will make it again.

Grandmother's Pound Cake II

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2010
This is exactly what pound cake is supposed to be. The folks who said it wasn't "really" pound cake just don't know what pound cake is. Also maybe they didn't cream the butter and sugar enough or maybe they beat the flour too much after adding. All those things can mess up a good pound cake. But this is the easiest and best one to me. Of course I usually add cocoa to mine!

Too bland. I wish I read all the reviews before making. May try it again using some of the suggestions here.

Coco-Cola Cake III

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2010
This recipe (almost exactly) has been in my family for decades. The cake part is wonderful, but the the topping is waaaay too sweet. My family won't eat it. I would love to find another topping/frosting that goes well with this.
