Spicy Indian Dahl

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
Very good! It's definitely a good idea to make this a day or two in advance as it's much better then! I used only 1/2 cup of water and that was plenty. Also, I will use only a teaspoon of Cumin only, it was a bit too dominant in my opinion. We had it with Indian style Cauliflower, it was great!

Shui Zhu Dou Fu (Sichuan Boiled Tofu)

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2010
Excellent, a perfect balance of heat and aroma. It may be a bit too hot for some people, so if you're not sure, better use less chili peppers! If you're not such a big fan of boiled soft tofu, "fry" it in a dry pan without oil before cooking this dish. This will probably not be 100% authentic anymore, but that's better than missing out on this really tasty dish!

Tofu In Black Bean Sauce (Shi Jiao Dou Fu)

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2010
Fast, easy and very tasty! If you don't wanna buy fried Tofu or can't find it, just cut the tofu into slices and fry them in a pan without (!!!) oil on medium heat until it's golden brown and kinda dry. It'll easily absorb loads of liquid and taste AND save you money! Also, don't use "some" hot sauce instead of the chili sauce, get some Asian chili sauce or even better: paste. It really makes a difference!

Baked Spaghetti Squash Lasagna Style

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2010
A great dish for sure! We all loved it incl. my girlfriend who's not too much into squash. I have to agree that one squash makes about 4 servings not 6 though. I also microwaved the squash instead of baking it as one review suggested to save some time. Also, I used Gouda instead of Parmesan, because I didn't have any. I altered nothing else and am very happy with this and will make it again pretty soon! Thanks a lot for this great recipe!!

Stir fry Firm Tofu with Chive Spears (Dou Gan Chao Jiu Cai Hua)

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2010
When I read the recipe I was sure this wouldn't work..... I assumed the chive spears would turn into charcoal, but I was sooo wrong - gladly! ! It doesn't take a lot of time to prepare and it's very tasty indeed! Even my significant other - always sceptical ;) - was impressed. She was glad indeed to get some not so spicy food, lol! Be sure to pay attention to the instructions though, you will be glad you did! It may not sound too exciting, but it's really really good! Give it a try!

Yu Xiang Tofu--Tofu in Hot Garlic Sauce

Reviewed: May 27, 2010
This dish combines three of my faves: tofu, garlic and hot food in general, so I was sure I couldn't go too wrong with it and I was right! It is actually hotter than I thought it would be, but that just made it better. The poster pointed out that you'd need pickled chilis and shouldn't use fresh ones to get that unique taste and aroma and I can only second that!!! It sure made a difference. I am using a lot of fresh chili pods in my kitchen so I can tell. Also, it's advisable to add more water to the sauce, because it'll ecvaporate almost instantly when you add it to the hot pan/wok. This way you'll make sure there is some actual sauce left to stir! :) That being said, what you'll get is a truly delicious dish. The aroma is great and the heat is perfect. If you do not like hot food too much or your tolerance is kinda low, you may want to use less chili peppers. If you are NOT serving this with any other course, I'd suggest making some more. I ate it all on my own without any problems! :)

Ma Po Tofu--One of the most famous Sichuan(Szechuan) Dishes

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2010
This was finger licking good! The only criticism I need to voice is that it is not really enough to serve 2 people IF you are not serving it with something else - in my opinion! I'd definitely suggest preparing more than suggested. You won't regret it - it's so gooood!!!!

30 minute Eggplant

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2010
It's excellent. I just had it for the second time and I am sure I'll eat this about once a week! You need to like eggplants in order to enjoy this and it may not be for everyone as it's a bit different, but yummy nonetheless. Thanks a lot for your great recipes!
