Mom's Best Waffles

I would suggest seperating the eggs and beating the egg whites till firm but not dry - gently fold in the egg whites after all other ingredients have been incorporated. I would also sprinkle some freshly ground nutmeg over the top before baking in the waffle iron - and like others, I would definitely add some vanilla. The egg white creates a light and fluffy waffle. Waffles are a great dessert as well as breakfast treat. My grandmother made all sorts of flavors of waffles - pumpkin, chocolate, etc. Enjoy!

Oatmeal-Currant Scones

This is a reliable and delicious recipe. I add chopped nuts and orange rind and I have sprinkled granulated sugar on top. I make the scone smaller than 1/16th of the dough - and I roll them relatively thin - but not too thin. I always use dried cranberries, and will try blueberries one of these days since I am from Maine! This is a delightful scone - not too sweet.
