The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2014
I am not a rolled cookie girl - at all. In fact I don't own a rolling pin, but a wine bottle worked just fine! Lol i have to say this recipe was awesome! T was easy to throw together. I chilled overnight. I followed the reviews that said to knead the dough before "rolling" lol as its very hard. I used icing sugar instead of flour as suggested. The dough made perfect chewy cookies as I rolled to 1/2 inch. My 4 year old son actually was able to do most of the work by himself it was so easy... HOWEVER, make sure you get these cookies OFF the pan right away! DON'T let the cool o n the pan or you'll never get them off in one piece! Would definitely make again. Thanks!

Easy Cheese Ball II

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2013
This was excellent. Of course I added some things as I like depth of flavors. 1 tsp roasted garlic, 1 tbsp. worcestershire, and 1 tbsp. franks red hot. I wasn't sure about rolling in pecans as although I like them, I didn't think they would be good with the creamy cheese, but they were great! It got rave reviews.

Ting-Town Barbeque Beef Sandwich

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2013
This was meh. I expected so much more from the sheer number of ingredients, but it tasted like most other recipes I've made using less ingredients. The addition of beer was a nice touch, but turned out too barbecuey for me, not sweet enough.

These were good but a little dry as mini muffins. They either needed less cooking time of more liquid.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2013
These were good. Still chewy even though I kneaded to heck out of them! I pressed them out and used cookie cutter to make shapes with my 4 year old. The batter was pretty crumbly toward the end! lol The ones we just made as regular cookies worked out better than the shapes. also they did dry out after only a couple days it they were very tasty until then!

Peanut Butter Balls II

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2013
Omg, so good! They really do need to be left overnighting blend flavour. I would Mix in 1/2 cup less icing sugar next time because u use quite a bit to get them rolled. I added some butter to the choc to get a creamy texture, but not too much as it gets too thin and you need it thick for a nice coating. Make sure to freeze PB balls before dipping.

Melt - In - Your - Mouth Shortbread

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2013
Omg! This was awesome!! I have never made shortbread before so I was a little worried about gettingit right. i made sure to whip the heck out of the butter as many reviewers said. To do. They turned out wonderful. I wasn't sure if they would be very flavourful so I added white chocolate chips and cranberries, but I wouldn't add them again. This recipe is perfect just the way it is! Delish!

Caramel Apples

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2013
My opinion doesn't reflect this specific recipe (although I did follow it - but they are all the same) but I'll never go through all the work of making caramel apples again. I followed all the directions and tips from reviewers, melted the caramels, let it cool a little, washed and scrubbed the wax off the apples, let them dry, put them in the freezer for 15 min, sprayed the wax paper, set them in the fridge afterward, everything little thing to make them work out., the caramel set up pretty well and I thought yay, all the naysayers were wrong. BUT it all slid off through the night, taking the coatings with it, and ended up as puddles on the wax paper. Just buy the caramel apples, or serve the caramel warm on the side, but don't bother making them.

Chocolate Chess Pie II

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2013
Awesome recipe with a few tweaks from reviewers. Use only 1 cup sugar and 5 tbsp cocoa. heat everything except eggs together in saucepan until blended. Take a small amount of choc mix and add to eggs in separate bowl. Whisk together, then add this mixture to the remaining choc mix and heat and whisk until starts to thicken. Pour into shell. Also makes apps 15 tarts. Yum!

Beautiful Salad

Everyone loved it! The onion is crucial. Even my husband who dislikes onion insisted it was necessary to taste right. We used some creamy balsamic and some raspberry vinegrette.

Peanut Butter Marshmallow Squares

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2012
Yes I agree with some other posters that the nuts do not belong. Also, instead of saying remove from heat and add marshmallows, there really should some cooling off period as my marshmallows melted. The result was still yummy! However I should state I also used natural peanut butter which takes a little longer to melt down... Thanks for the old school recipient tho, glad i could still make me like mom - sort of!

Slow Cooker Lentil and Ham Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2012
Yummo! Ok, so I used navy beans instead of lentils and a huge can of tomato sauce instead of 8oz. But your could put anything in this pot so long as you let it simmer, and simmer. I cooked mine like for 4 hours, then served it the next day. It was awesome!
