Creamy Dill Cucumber Toasties

Good...but used less of the dry Italian salad mix (too salty) and added a squirt of lemon juice and a little dill in the mix, not just on top.

Chilled Rice Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2012
Five stars because all the flavors worked well together. The second time I made this dish I added dried currants - GREAT!!! And I used red and orange bell pepper. It was nice having this available in the fridge when we wanted just a little something to eat, or to take to work for lunch. I did up the curry powder just a wee bit. ;o) YUM I

Irish Soda Bread

Wonderful! I followed the recipe with the exception that I used currants instead of raisins, and just 1.5 cups. Loved how it baked in the old cast iron dutch oven, and slid right out when cooled a bit. THIS IS A WONDERFUL SODA BREAD RECIPE! I will make this a couple of times a year, not just on St. Patrick's Day. ;o) Everyone loved it! ***I used all of the liquid and it turned out fine; (this is a very sticky dough F.Y.I.), turns out great. Pinch more salt next time.

Prime Rib Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
VERY good soup! I did start with sauteing chopped onion and celery in butter, then added the prime rib, beef stock; added carrots and two potatoes. I already had rosemary, garlic & thyme coated on my prime rib from the day before, so that added wonderful flavor. Thanks Emily! This was so good and a great way to use up every bit of that expensive Christmas prime rib! KEEPER!

I LOVE the almond extract....more flavor than vanilla extract without being overbearing. I now use almond extract in different sugar cookies...great!

Easy - and this method works! Great! I also used rosemary and fresh garlic in my rub. It is the day after Christmas, and I am making the prime rib soup posted on allrecpes, with added veggies. Yum!

Love it, love it! The ONLY thing I did was use less flour. I made a wonderful potato and kielbasa soup with this base; onion and celery too!

Excellent lasagna, John! This is a keeper. The only two things I did differently was to NOT add the salt, and use low/no salt tomato paste & I drained the fat from the meat. :o) Great recipe!

Made just as directed; just used a couple of drops of liquid smoke in each foil packet. WONDERFUL flavor - tender off the bone meat. EASY and so tasty! I used Sweet Baby Ray's sauce. YUMMMMM. No mess either, - slow cooked outside on the grill, unwrapped foil last few minutes. ;o*

Wonderful....but to make even tastier: Add a tablespoon of dried dill (or more to taste) and omit the half the water and add a quarter cup of dry white wine to dissolve the gelatin. YUMMERS!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
VERY fluffy! Only I didn't find as much flavor as I would have liked, and I did add vanilla extract. You know, maybe substitute a quarter cup of flour and use a quarter cup of powered buttermilk. Still, I will make again, love the fluffiness and texture of these pancakes!

Unbelievable Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2009
This was really really good! Even if one uses this as a "base" marinade, and decides to add barbecue sauce at the last minute, the marinade really adds a lot of flavor that goes deep into the chicken. This one is a keeper! I am passing this recipe onto friends and family.

Maine Lobster Lasagna

Very artery-clogging good! I made half the size of the recipe, and used one lobster tail, and crab meat (real) for the middle layer. My dinner guests loved this! Sure, it's not a 'spicy' dish..but a very nice delicate, rich flavor! Also, do not use canned Alfredo sauce...make your own!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Wonderfully moist, great flavor! I used only half of the cinnamon, as I didn't want the cinnamon to overshadow the other flavors. Also, the last 1/4th cup of sugar, I used brown sugar. GREAT!!!! My daughter can't keep away from this bread ~ I am lucky to have a little left for myself!

Boston Baked Beans

These were very good. I did make them just as the recipe said, and they turned out fine. I even used an authentic, old bean pot! I will probably use my crock pot next time, but I just had to use the old bean pot the first time. I will also make them barbecue flavor next time.

Alfredo Sauce

Grating your own fresh parmesan is the KEY to a SMOOTH sauce! The only sub I made was using half 'n half. I love recipes that only have a few ingrediants in them, as "less is more" prevails! Just wonderful and easy! Thanks!
