I love fall/winter cooking best! Hearty soups are my favorites, along with roasts and stews. OH, nothing like homemade bread baking at the same time too! The aromas will make you float!
My favorite things to cook
How about a BIG pet peeve? People that try a recipe and make many changes, then complain about it, and give a one or two star. Whine whine whine. Have some wine instead and let someone else do the cooking!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking with my father. We use to cook together, and have so much fun creating wonderful food! But everytime, somehow, we got food on the kitchen ceiling, much to my Mother's dismay! (But it was kind of funny.) My father was not only known for being a great surgeon, but a true gormet also.
My cooking triumphs
Seven layer tarts/cakes. Soups. Appetizers. My chocolate pecan pie...better than the recipes here; guess I'd better submit it someday!
My cooking tragedies
Homemade cinnamon rolls. I am cinnamon roll impaired! They always turn out like hocky pucks. No matter what recipe I have tried throughout the years, I am just going to give up on this ONE thing. Oh well. Pillsbury will save me on this! And the time I made lasagna for the very first time when I was a teen; the recipe said "four cloves of garlic" for the sauce. I used FOUR ENTIRE FLOWERS OF GARLIC. Must have been at least equal to 50 cloves! Kept away any vampires for years. (And I didn't get married until I was 34...???)

Campbell's Kitchen Chicken Broccoli Divan
This is a hit, and has been since I first started making it back in 1996. I had relatives from Denmark, and they even took the french bread that was served with the meal and wiped the casserole dish clean! Tonight I am making the dish to almost done, let it cool, then encrusting in filo dough and baking until golden brown.

Rosemary Roasted Turkey
This is how I do turkey! All but the salt: salt leaches moisture. Also, Pampered Chef's Italian seasonings work great also. Some of the best Thanksgiving turkeys were when I bought a Butterball. They also have a great site for calculating roasting times, etc. THIS RECIPE WORKS!!!

Cheeseburger Soup I
Great tasting fall/winter soup, but I'd call it Cheeseburger-potato soup! I also used sharp cheddar and fresh parsley, chopped, along with half 'n half for more richness.
