Bienvinuti Friends--

MrsFisher shared with me that she and MrFisher volunteer at an apartment community and host three events each month for their residents. I arrived just in time for their last event before they retire from the program. They were hosting a decadent fall-themed dessert night. We baked and baked and baked today. My spoon was nearly worn out from all the stirring. I was especially excited to help MrsFisher finally perfect pie dough! My favorite thing was sprinkling the toasted coconut on the Japanese Fruitcake. Don't let that name fool you...there is nothing Japanese or fruitcake-y about the recipe but it sure was rich and delicious! What's not to love about coconut, pineapple, maraschino cherries and cake?

Later that night, I attended the last event with the Fishers. Unfortunately there are no photos of me at the event but here are some photos of the desserts in progress and some of the final products!

Sounds like MrsFisher was pretty busy while you were visiting...but still made some great looking desserts. The fall fruit tart looks amazing.
