(Hi it is me again, Sophia.
I will continue to translate whatever Chef Luigi says today.
He is such a dear!)
Hello my fellow ARers!
I feel refreshed from my nap. That was a lot of walking we did this morning while visiting Washington, D.C.
I discovered that while I was asleep my hostess and DH worked on decorating the Christmas tree.
She told me there are still many boxes of ornaments to be put on the tree.
(if you asked me I think they went bonkers buying ornaments when they were stationed in Germany)
But I digress.
My hostess wanted to show me her martini glass collection. She calls them martunis.
In fact she uses different names for a lot of stuff. She started off by showing me the ”Plain Jane’s”.
Nothing fancy just serviceable. The perfect glass for when you had a bad day or the drive home was a drive from Hades.
Then we moved up to the fun and whimsical.
She had several that fit into this category. The two with the bubble bottoms were purchased when my hostess was in Canada this Fall.
The next group she called the La De daaaa group.
Tres sophisticated types. She used red and green color dye on the ice cubes in the bottom of one.
And finally there were the special ones.
Ones my hostess said were only used on those special occasions like Christmas dinner and such.
Then she said “choose your glass and let’s bottoms up!”
I stepped back as I was in shock. Gin instead of wine?
No never! She smiled and said “Fine! More for me!”
Then she brought out the olives. Plain, stuffed with garlic, stuffed with blue cheese Mama Mia I melted.
I chose the Fox and Hound glass because I am a La De daaaa type of Chef!
(Current score Hostess 3 Chef Luigi 3)
Hmmmmm this may end up a tie.
The Plain Janes
Different! See the ice cubes on the right?
Getting fancier! These are from Canada!
La De daaaa! The fox and the hound!
For special occasions!
