(Hi my name is Georgio Armani.
I was hired to translate whatever Chef Luigi says today. Man he is a little guy!)
Hello my fellow ARers!
Here I am in the beautiful state of Merryland. I am also staying in the very historic town of Brookeville!
My hostess told me that Brookeville was once the capital of the United States for one day.
Very strange. Actually this happened during the war of 1812 (200 years ago).
The British were getting ready to invade Washington, D.C. so President Madison and his lovely wife Dolly packed up their belongings (along with the portrait of General and past President George Washington) and hiked up Georgia Avenue to Brookeville,
Maryland. There they stayed for one day. End of history lesson!

When I arrived no one was home so I waited outside until my hostess got home.
She gently carried me in and waited for DH to arrive. Then they greeted me together and introduced me to the rest of the clan.
First was THE BIG DOG. Mama mia that dog is big.
I was told she is a gentle giant of over 100 pounds and is also a great watch dog.
Then this walking carpet got close to me. Mama mia again it is a dog under that fur.
I will call him Wooly Booly. He is about my height so he got me good in the face.
I was a little tired so they said not a problem and showed me my bedroom.
The next morning was hectic. There was a lot of activity as my hostess and DH scurried around to get ready for work.
(let the dogs out, feed the dogs, get the paper, make the coffee, let the dogs out again, warm up the cars…)
I figured out two things real fast 1) DO NOT get in their way and 2) DO NOT cross the hostess if she has not had her coffee.
My hostess invited me to go to work with her but I politely declined.
I am no fool. I read the papers. DC has one of the worst commutes in the entire country.
Does she think I am crazy? So she pointed to the Christmas tree and instructed me to decorate it while she was at work.
It bothered me that she kept looking up at the top of the tree and then back down to me (shiver, does she know my secret fear of heights?)
I reminded her that I am a very famous person and should be treated with great respect.
She gave me a stare with those blue eyes that could send boats crashing to the bottom of the ocean.
So I gave her my best Italian stare back. Next thing I knew I was back in my bedroom.
Before leaving she did try to make nice and promised me that we will do a lot of sight seeing this weekend and perhaps stop at one of their favorite restaurants later.
She also hinted about a rather large collection of glasses she said she would show me.
What a tease she is! Now I will catch up on my beauty rest.
