Well - it's good to be back in the City of Crosses here in southern New Mexico.  I've been here almost a week, but it's been blazing hot and we just didn't feel like doing much.  So I've been kicking back, chatting with Chef Juan Carlos [you probably remember him from my visit last May] and generally taking it easy.

You'll never guess with I got to do today:  I fed a roadrunner (and no, he's not the cute little Beep, Beep guy from the cartoons).  He's not a very pretty bird but he serves a purpose here; with that nasty beak he takes on scorpions, lizards and those dang rattlers.  I had a chunk of hamburger on my thumb and I was afraid he might take off my hand - but he was more afraid of me than I was of him!  I had to throw the meatball on the deck and then he came right up and ate it!

Later this morning swchef put me to work as we made Antipasto Pasta Salad -and it came out great.  It took awhile to dice and slice but it was worth the effort.

After lunch, Mr. swchef mentioned something about going to see sand???  They live in a desert for goodness sake, so why do we need a road trip to "see sand?"  Is there a beach near by?

Here's some pictures of my adventure witht he road runner and the salad prep this morning.  Now I need to find out more about that trip to see sand....

Well - shoot Chef - I thought you got lost in the desert! Glad to hear you are making friends with the road runners. Stay cool my friend! Tell SWChef to turn on the air conditioning. :)

I don't blame you for staying cool. I saw that egg you fried on the cement! Have fun!

Oh, my - Dog Fish; do you really think we fried that egg on the patio? The only thing we fried out there was swchef's bare feet!

nice to see you Luigi, glad you and Swchef are having fun, well maybe? I secretly always wanted the coyote to catch and eat that annoying Beep Beep bird, but then I always wanted Sylvester to take care of that annoying little tweetie bird too. Like sands through an hour glass, I can't wait to see where the sands of time takes you in the Days of AR lives:P BTW wear tight clothes, there is nothing worse than sands in your shorts

He found that out!

That sure is a beautiful road runner. I don't see many here. I see more raccoons where I live then anything. And they travel in packs.. I would love to have visited that area.

The SW B&B is always open for guests. You could be here in a long day's drive!
