Buongiorno!

Chef Luigi back to blog about latest trip. When Chef Luigi arrive to California, I wonder where LB take me. I happy to stay at LB's house but LB say he have special trip planned. Friday he say he had it down to beach or Disneyland, but he said beach because he say you cannot visit California and not visit beach. He say "Unless you visit Blythe, that is." (Pssst: I never hear of Blythe but I smile at joke)

LB say he sad entire family cannot take Chef Luigi to beach because Mrs. LB have work and other girl, Yvie, have school. So LB, Kennedy and Chef Luigi go play.

This is the place we visited:

Chef Luigi like Newport Beach, but wonder where Oldport went

We go to Newport Beach. LB say Newport is "a straight shot down the 55 for us" so I say yes but wonder what that mean. We driving for not very long, 45 minutes, and then we at beach. Weather warm but not hot, but beach still beautiful.

Waves stayed far away from Chef Luigi

I didn't want to swim. Kennedy very brave girl. She four years old and not scared of water. Chef Luigi try to get toes in water and Kennedy try to convince me of getting in water. She say "Come on, Chef guy" because that what she call Chef Luigi.

I stay here, not go in water

LB say the water is Pacific Ocean, and he say my last stop in New Zealand also surrounded by Pacific Ocean. I think I see it in Dunedin.

I start to miss Good EatNZ and Chef Gino.

New Zealand very far away, but out there somewhere

Then I think I see something to make Chef Luigi's famous calimari with.

This is not calimari!

LB laugh and say this is seaweed. Yuk. I cover in seaweed.

We stop playing in water even though Kennedy could have stayed longer. But after more than 90 minutes we want to go to pier so Kennedy say okay. We walk by crab house. LB say he does not like seafood so smell was not good to him, but Chef Luigi love smell.

I hungry for lobster!

Then Chef Luigi see sign, love sign, take picture next to sign.

Great sign

We finally get on pier and it is very beautiful. Sun shining bright and warm now, but still refreshing because we are next to beautiful Pacific Ocean.

Sign say this place is old. Where is new port?
Then Chef Luigi distracted. Camera not take best picture of Chef Luigi. Can you tell why?

LB say turn around, and I tell him "I am!"

But that not only sights we see.

Chef Luigi never see seal before
It was first time I see animal like that. Very beautiful! I lucky to see because LB say he never see one out in wild before.

We prepare to drive to LB's home soon after. We had great day at Newport Beach.

Chef Luigi love Newport Beach!

It's great day to spend with LB and Kennedy! We all very happy!

Chef Luigi like hosts!

All in all, memorable day at beach.

Hey Cheffo - or should I say, Maestro? - you are one cool dude. I am always interested in your travels and you are doing pretty well. Shame you have to be with all these strange Americans. Get over here, and be with us English (Ok, but not actually in England). Our country is such a lot smaller than the U.S. and the ocean is such a lot cooler. And the mountains are such a lot lower (if you were in England). All things to make it easier for you!

What a great trip you are having, Chef! Not many get to have such a perfect tour guide as LB! I wonder what you will do tomorrow when he runs! Maybe you and Mrs. LB and the two girls will be at the finish line to greet him as he sets his PR! Good luck to LB!!!!
