Chef Luigi return with second part of trip to Mt. Rubidoux. Very interesting place. Read about first part here if you have not read it.

Where we leave off? Oh yes, Chef Luigi look at cactus. Well, I turn around and see part of Riverside. LB say view better from top so we go to top.

I wonder if LB's house is out there

We start walk. There lots of ways to go around in Mt. Rubidoux. Map is little helpful but still kind of confuse for me. LB not confuse. He know which way to go.

yellow trail shorter, but steeper, but we go on yellow trail

I stay steep and I mean steep. Lotsa walking for little guy like me.

Chef Luigi and Kennedy could not keep up with LB

LB tell me he is runner. He was not running up Mt. Rubidoux with us but he say he go often to run all way up, sometimes six miles up and down and up and down. Lotsa miles! Ben fatto!

Kennedy get tired and LB carry her for little bit. LB strong! He carry Chef Luigi and Kennedy.

Finally we get to top. Chef Luigi thought view of Riverside was good before. At top, view is... molto meglio! Much better!

Old building behind is on top of mountain as well

view of town behind mountain, town called Rubidoux, like mountain!

At top of mountain is very big flag. People from all Riverside can see flag, and Chef Luigi got picture taken with flag. Is of course flag of USA.

LB say flag is called Old Glory, she don't look so old to me

What make Mt. Rubidoux special in Riverside? This sign says it all. LB give me short version: long time ago, people came here to celebrate Pasqua, Easter. Tradition start there.

Here sign explaining it

In Italy, many buildings very old. Some more than 2,000 years old. LB say Riverside not that old but still history here. Chef Luigi like it! And sign too!

What else is there besides big flag on top of mountain? Big cross also.

enorme croce

Chef Luigi look big! But everyone tiny next to cross

At bottom of cross is sign. LB say Junipero Serra was famous missionary who help build missions across California long time ago. Missions very famous here in California, all across state and very beautiful, LB say.

flowers almost bigger than me!

Chef Luigi really like top of Mt. Rubidoux, like seeing all buildings from far. LB say behind me is where his daughters were born, and also where he met wife. Two different places, but both behind me in background. Eccezionale!

daughters born at hospital, LB meet wife at college

LB very tired on way down. He carry Kennedy and Chef Luigi down and sun very warm. LB say worth it to take visitor to top of mountain to see all of city.
Chef Luigi love Riverside!!

Thank you for reading about adventure up mountain! Next time Chef Luigi show you about lunch and some food we had to eat. LB still planning couple big meals, home-cooked he say, and Chef Luigi anxious to get in kitchen with him. And food LB give to Chef Luigi already very good!

LB and family spoiling Chef Luigi!

I remember Easter Sunrise Services on Mt. Rubidoux (or Mt. Rub-yer-ducks, as we often called it.) A clear day in the Inland Empire is a winderful thing. Glad you got it on film.
