Salute From Riverside! Chef Luigi In California!!

Pronto!
Monday morning
was a fantastic morning for Chef Luigi! I arrive in Southern California
and meet LB! He went picked me up from this place with many boxes and I
was just happy to be outside.
At first I worry because I think I
back in Seattle. Dark skies above, look like rain on Chef Luigi and I
no like. I hear Southern California suppose to be hot and sunny, but
rain says hello to Chef Luigi.
This is Southern California? Yes I see the palm trees but where is the sun?
LB live in place call Riverside. He say it is far from Hollywood where all the movie stars walk around town, right? But Riverside is home to LB and his family so it is home to Chef Luigi too.
The thing say "Sunnyslope" but I don't see no sun, and where is this slope?
I
hear LB say he has plans to take me many places and this is fantastic.
First stop was to his house and I meet this little girl name Kennedy.
Hello I say to this Kennedy while secretly I hope she no drop Chef
Luigi. Already I hear LB scolding her. E giusto? It could be long week for Chef Luigi.
Nice to meet you Kennedy. You are a not so little girl.
Anyway,
LB take me to his house. We are both chefs, no?, so I tell him to show
me what we will be cooking this week. I get excited! Spices I like –
oregano, cardamom, bay leaves – and others I interested in – cumin,
chili powder, Mexican oregano. Sounds very delicious!
Cumin smell bad but it is LB's favorite he tell me
He also show me many ingredients we will cook up in this week. Sembra buono!
He take out some pork meat, something called chorizo (I am excited
about this) and a cheese he call “Panela” which I never hear of. It is
from Mexico, LB tell me. His parents come from Mexico. I remember
watching Calcio game (you call it soccer) between Italia and Mexico and LB watch game too! Ottimo!
LB tell me chorizo is very tasty and I take word for it.
However first thing LB serve me is pasta. I confuse.
Bacon in pasta make it taste buono!
It
is like I am back home but I expect other things such as this spicy
Mexican food. He say it will all come so for Chef Luigi to be patient
but I have impatience sometimes! It is okay because LB will show Chef
Luigi how he cook very shortly.
Well I must get going now. LB
say he want to “pick my brain” and I am worried what this means. Chef
Luigi will keep his hat on very tightly so as LB cannot get to brain!
