This was absolutely delicious. I didn't use the red pepper flakes. Next time I think I will use fresh green pepper and onion. YUMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!

New Orleans Corn Bisque with Smoked Sausage

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2011
This was absolutely AMAZING. I added Tony Chacheres, but besides that, kept everything the same. Oh my goodness.... melt in your mouth deliciousness. I served it with a side of cornbread. This is going to become a regular on my winter meal rotations. :)

Cream Cheese Bars I

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2010
I'm a sweet lover... but holy cow. These were WAY TOO SWEET! Ugh. I feel like I wasted good ingredients. If I ever venture to make this again: way less sugar, more cream cheese, and a different cake mix besides yellow.

Scalloped Cabbage with Ham and Cheese

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2010
Loved this! Very comforting on a cool night. I used two small bags of cold slaw, used a little more butter/flour/milk... probably about 3 tbsp each of butter and flour and about a cup and a half of milk. I added a little nutmeg, salt, garlic powder and onion powder to my sauce. I used about 6 or 7 slices of american cheese because that is what I had on hand. Put the ham on top of the cabbage mix and topped with breadcrumbs I mixed with a little melted butter. It was very very good. Will definitely make this again!!

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2010
These were absolutely FANTASTIC!!!! I was shocked at how they tasted nearly identical to the pretzel places like Aunt Annie's. I decreased temp to 415 and baked about 8 1/2 minutes. They were SO GOOD!!!!!!

Fluffy Pancakes

EXCELLENT!!! I had to triple the recipe to get a decent number of pancakes for my family. I also added Vanilla. Super fluffy and GREAT flavor. This is now my go-to pancake recipe. Thanks!

Frosted Banana Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2010
These had good flavor and were very moist. I used chocolate frosting on the top.... but if I made it again I would definitely use a cream cheese frosting. It was a great alternative to banana bread for using up extremely ripe bananas. :)

Barbie's Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2010
This was the BEST tuna salad I have ever had.... hands down. I cut down on the mayo slightly, and I only used about half of the relish it called for. It was so creamy and delicious and full of flavor! I will definitely make this over and over.

Cream Cheese Jalapeno Hamburgers

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
DELICIOUS!!!!! I seasoned the meat with worchestershire, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and steak seasoning. 1 1/2 lbs of meat yielded me 4 burgers. I halved the filling and I still had some leftover. I did not find these messy at all. The filling stayed in the burger nicely on the grill. My hubby and I LOVED them. Definitely going to put these on my summer grilling rotation. :0) They had good jalapeno flavor, without being spicy. Yum Yum.

Cheeseburger Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2010
Very good! I added garlic powder, worchesershire, steak seasoning, and a little BBQ sauce to the meat. It was very easy to roll up the cheese.... although I thought I did a good job sealing the edges of the meatloaf and still SO much cheese was oozing out of it when it was done. I really liked this recipe and will definitely make it again.

Old Fashioned Vanilla Ice Pops (a.k.a. Pop Pops)

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2010
Way, way, WAY too sugary. I loved the idea of these, but they were so overpoweringly sweet. If I ever made them again I would cut back on the sugar BIG TIME. Sad thing is I really dove into the recipe and not only made it with cream soda, but also with grape and orange.

Polish Style Lasagna

Reviewed: May 18, 2010
I added bacon and cheddar cheese to the potato layer. I also added a little cheddar cheese on top of onions. The potatoes need more liquid. Perhaps some sour cream? Milk? They need something. Next time I will also add more seasonings to the potatoes, salt, pepper, garlic powder maybe. Lastly, I will add more onions, because the sauteed onion really is what made this dish, and I don't think one onion did the job. I will definitely make it again, but with the changes I've noted.

Bierock Casserole

Reviewed: May 13, 2010
This is a very homey and fulfilling recipe. I added seasonings to the meat of garlic powder, a little basil, and salt and pepper. I used about 1/2 cup of sour cream and 3/4 cup of cheddar cheese in the filling for a binder. I, personally, really liked the cheddar cheese on top of the roll topping. I would make this again.
