Slow-Cooked Short Ribs

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2011
So darn good!! The sauce is enough to make you lick the plate. The ironic thing is we don't eat beef. Haven't eaten it in 20+ years and decided to broaden our menu with this dish. Only substituted apple cider vinegar the rest was as written!!

Coconut Shrimp II

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2010
I made this for my god-daughters luau themed birthday party and it was a hit!!! The only thing I changed was the prepared mustard to stone ground mustard, it gave it a little more texture. This has now become my signature dish!!! We could not make enough to satisfy the crowd.

Chicken Enchiladas II

Excellent, and so easy to make! I used corn tortillas instead of flour as they taste better to me!

Mushroom Risotto

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2009
This recipe was fantastic. I hosted a dinner party and served this with roasted cornish hen and asparagus. It was a hit!!! I was a little concerned about the cream and milk as I could find no other risotto recipe that included milk and cream, but it turned out great. Next time I would exclude the celery, as I did not like the taste.

Classic Red Velvet Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2006
This recipe is a keeper. I could not find cake flour (Night before Thanksgiving), but I just coverted the recipe where I could use all purpose flour. The frosting was to die for. I kept licking the bowl.

Jean's Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2006
Very good soup. This was my first time making soup. My husband loves chicken noodle soup. I sauteed garlic and onion with my chicken and ginger, and added two chicken boullion cubes to the soup. It was delicious!!!

I made this recipe even quicker by cooking it on my George Foreman Grill. The chicken was tender and tasty

My 4 year old son loved it! But I needed much more soy sauce. The sesame oil gave it a very good taste

Chicken and Dumplings I

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2001
This is a old time favourite of mine. My dad used to make chicken and dumplings when I was a child, and I have been dying to make it. I did however change up the way in which I made the dumplings in order to resemble the way my dad made his. It came out excellent. I would cut down on the amount of boullion as well, I think it made it a little salty.

Cajun Seafood Pasta

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2001
I did not find this recipe very hot at all, as a matter of fact my 4 year old son loved it! But I guess that is to be expected since we live in LA. Cajun country, everything we eat is hot! The one thing I would change although is the amount of parsley. If you are not a big "green stuff" fan, I would half the amount of Parsley. It was an excellent recipe, and I cant wait to make it again.
