Wonderful Meatloaf

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2011
Good, but I have made changes because I do not like the taste of Thyme and I wanted ingredient substitutes with less preperation. I was looking for German Meatloaf and I think I am close. I serve this with red cabbage and mashed potatoes.

Corned Beef and Cabbage I

Reviewed: May 27, 2010
This must be the best Irish meal ever. I managed to make this with a 5 quart Crockpot and a stove pot. I recommend a 7 quart Crockpot, as I prefer more potatoes and carrots than normal. You may still need to move the juices to a stove pot to boil the cabbage as it needs room so it stays in the quarters you cut it into rather than just a pile of cabbage leaves. I bought a seasoned packaged corned beef brisket and followed this recipe. I only cook what cabbage I need for each meal as cooked cabbage is not a good leftover. This one has turned into a staple for me.

Banana Bread - Quick Bread for Machines

Reviewed: May 27, 2010
I'm a fan of this one. I found my mother's older Black & Decker bread machine, so I thought I would try my hand. This was the first of three breads I tried and it was great! I split the over-ripe bananas (the ones you are ready to through away) and then cut them into 1 inch pieces. Apparently I knew this from the past, as it is not in the recipe. It blended perfectly and the "white bread with raisins" setting on my machine cooked it perfectly. This is one of the very first bread machines made and “raisins” means “with fruit”. I will be adding chopped walnuts or almonds next time.

White Bread For The Bread Machine

Reviewed: May 27, 2010
It's the easiest white bread you could make. Quite edible, but dry, so I can't recommend it for sandwiches, but that could be because it is gluten free, which I like. I am not good enough to alter recipes, so I am still looking for sandwich bread. Try this if you are just starting to use your bread machine. You will impress yourself!

Steakhouse Wheat Bread for the Bread Machine

Reviewed: May 27, 2010
I found my mother's older bread machine, one of the earliest Black & Decker models, and decided to try my hand; since my daughters had done most of the bread making when still at home. I chose this as one of my experiments because I always liked the small loaves served in some restaurants. It was a Success! Every crumb was perfect, including the crust, but I would not recommend this for sandwiches. It is the best meat and potatoes, pot roast or soup bread with lots of butter.
