I am a married mother of 2. I have started cooking by watching my mother. I love to try any new recipe at least once then add and delete as my family sees fit.
My favorite things to cook
I love mexican, spicier the better. My family also loves Italian as well. I love trying new crock pot or casserole recipies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The only tradition that we stick with every year is Christmas dinner. I make everyones favorite. My daughter loves my Green Chilie Chicken enchiladas, my son always gets Chicken Parm and Manicotti, and my husband and I will have filet mignon. Of course my corn casserole, Cherry Cheese Cake, mashed potatos and my grandmothers onion gravy will also be served.
My cooking tragedies
The first time I made lasagna for my husband (we were still dating) I was so excited. I set the table, greeted him at the door and escorted him to the table. Served him the dinner. After a few bites he stops and asks "What is it?" I told him what it was. He then asks "Isn't Lasagna supposed to have some color?" I looked over at the counter and realized in my excitement to get it done, I forgot to add the sauce. Live and learn. :-)
