Easy Indian Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2008
It's good and relatively easy for what it is, but not quite authentic. I prefer recipes that call for ground nuts in the sauce.

Great-Grandmother Steinbeck's Johnnycake (Cornbread)

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2008
A little too crumbly, but that's great when you're crumbling it into chili or southern gumbo.

Very easy. Not quite like my grandmother's, so don't forget the Tabasco!

Asparagus Cashew Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2008
I make this ALL the time. I'm so glad I found this recipe! It's an easy one-pot meal, but I usually steam my asparagus separately. I have also traded the cashews for pine nuts or almonds, tried different broths for the rice, and added random herbs. Great recipe to vary up, and great as-is.

Baked Basil Fries

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2008
Mixing the ingredients to coat was difficult, I had to manipulate the mixture with the fries in a big freezer bag to get them coated evenly. Then in the oven, fries stuck to the pan. They did taste good, because I like my cheese slightly burnt, and my friends ate them up. I will experiment with different ingredients and cook times to get something that works better for me.

Melitzanes Imam

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2007
I had time to kill, so I caramelized the onions first. I also used extra garlic and coriander instead of cinnamon. Came out great!

Classic Hollandaise Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2007
This was my first time making any hollandaise, and it came out perfect. I used a double boiler on medium-low instead of a saucepan on low. It's wonderful on fresh steamed asparagus.
