Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2008
I made this before but didn't rate it til now. This is my second time making this and something in the back of my mind said that the last time I made this I should have marinaided this longer. So with that in mind I did warm up the sauce so that the sugar would melt then poured the juice over the chicken pieces in a marinaide bag and left in the fridge overnight. Total time was around 17 hrs. Then I cooked it the way the recipe said. Hubby raved about it. Our friend said that some pieces had more flavor than others so next time I might tenderize the chicken to see how that works. Otherwise this was a great meal and I'll make this again!!

Southern Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2007
I got home after going to the grocers and discovered I had bought beef instead of pork. Still came out great. I didn't use any of the left over juices but instead used some nice bbq sauce. Will make this again this time with the pork! =)

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2007
I thought this was going to be like another recipe I have that calls for the parm cheese and bread crumbs but it wasn't like it at all. OMG it is soooo good. Hubby raved about it. I cheated and nuked the butter and used fresh minced garlic but otherwise this goes into our rotation and that other one comes out, lol.

Simple But Awesome Lemon Pepper Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2007
This was really good. The amount of butter and olive oil was a bit much though so next time I will half this both top and bottom servings.

Mushroom Crusted Ham and Cheese Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2007
Well I was impressed. I've never had Quiche with anything other than pastry crust but it was great. I stuck to the recipe but didn't add salt as I knew my ham would be salty enough. I guess I don't know exactly how much a dash of hot sauce is as I couldn't taste it. My 2yr old loved it though, I didn't think she would like it so this dish is now on our list of things to make. =)

Cream of Mushroom Chicken

Reviewed: May 29, 2007
I was very surprised this dish worked out as well as it did. Who would think that mushroom soup and chicken would taste good together. I did as others suggested and omitted the water. As I was mixing everything up the soup mixture looked too thick and so I added a 1/4C of water and was sorry I did as the juice from the chicken made it too thin and I had to add flour to thicken it up. Its rather bland in color so next time I'll add things like green peppers etc. Served over egg noodles, my 2 yr old really liked the sauce mix.

Corny Ham and Potato Scallop

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2003
This was really a quick preparing dish. I didn't have any green peppers or minced onions so I used a small white onion chopped. I went with Amanda's idea and added 1/2 cup of water to the soup mix. It just didn't look like it was going to be enough of it to add to the mixture. Now I did cook it in the crockpot but turned the heat up to high and it only took 4 hrs to cook. Next time I'll add other veggies like carrots or even broccoli to it. I think the type of ham you use also decides the saltiness. Mine hardly had any salt in it and I think thats what made the difference on the flavor. Was very filling.

Sour Cream Chicken and Stuffing

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2003
Well I wasn't that impressed with the dish. It sounded good in theory but turned out dry. I have a gas oven and the sauce had a light film on the top. Perhaps if I try it again I would cover the dish and not cook it as long. The curry didn't have as strong a flavor as I thought it would. Hubby said the sauce tasted burnt. Also there was barly enough of the sauce mix to go over 6 breasts. Either I'll cut down on the chicken or up the sauce ingredients next time.

Cheesy Pork Chop Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2003
Well this wasn't as big a hit as I thought it would be with my husband. He didn't like all the cheese on the chops. I thought it was ok and thought the potatoes were great. If you slice them thin enough and don't overlap the potatoes they will cook in the time alotted. Guess I won't be making this one again.

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2003
OMG this was soo awsome! I thought that it would make too much for 2 people so I halfed the recipe, I'm sorry I did that. There were only 2 servings left after we'd had ours, lol. The only comment I got from my husband was he wasn't sure that he liked the parmesan cheese on top. I thought it was good but next time will try shredded cheese on top 5 minutes before its done and see how that turns out.

Chicken Alfredo

Reviewed: May 26, 2003
This was wonderful!! So rich and creamy. I did as others suggested and added a cup of milk instead of just 1/2 cup to make more sauce. I also just got a 1lb bag of frozen broccoli, califlower and carrots and cooked them the regular way and then placed them on top of the pasta and then poured the sauce over top that. The only thing I added to the sauce was the chicken. The recipe says it makes 4 servings but I only got 3 as I had 2 large men to feed. That filled them up though. I'm definitely adding this to our rotation.

Orange Spiced Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2003
This was good but at the same time the flavor of Orange juice was lost in the soy sauce. I think next time I will add less soy and more orange juice. Also I noticed that the juice started to dry up towards the end of cooking so I will use more of each too.

Awesome Bow Tie Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2003
I really enjoyed this recipe. I did follow the suggestions of others and only added 1/4 cup of the vinegar. I also served it hot and really enjoyed the flavor. I did try the leftovers cold and that was good too but somehow I liked it hot better. Will make again.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2002
This was a really easy to do recipe. Boy was I ever glad I halfed the recipe. This makes a HUGE amount if you make it for 8 servings. I made it for 4 and it filled up my 9 X 13 pan. With just 2 of us theres enough leftovers for 2+ more meals! =) I think it needs more cheese though so I thing I'll add either ricotta next time or dry cottage cheese.

WOW, I'm impressed. not only was it a easy recipe to follow but I got the greatest compliment from my husband. After dinner he looked at me and said "this is better than my Moms recipe"!! I also followed others who said don't use the onion. I will be making this often!! Thanks Janiece!!

Hubby loved this dish. Hes always been a spicy food lover. I thought I had taco seasoning already but it turned out to be chili seasoning, so I used that instead. Was very good.

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2002
This is the best pasta/sauce dish I've tried yet. I used half N half and found I did need to use the cornstartch to thicken it up. Otherwise a great meal. I'll make this again.

Blue Cheese Beef Tenderloin

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2002
Well I wasn't too thrilled with the blue cheese sauce, it was a tad strong. However I did enjoy the taste of the marinaide in the beef. I decided that 1/2hr wasn't long enough and did 7hrs instead. It was mouthwatering. Hubby likes his meat well done so it will need to be cooked for longer than the recipe stated. Prob another 25-30 minutes would have done it.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2002
What an excellent recipe!!! I've done meatloaf before but I've never thought of adding milk to it. The brown sugar and ketchup added a nice bbq flavour to this dish. Hubby raved about this and when he took leftovers to work the next day he was fighting his co-workers off of it!! =)
