Better than Sex Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2011
Easy, simple, and with ingredients I can keep on hand at all times. I will make this again, but I tweaked the first batch a bit. I ran out of vanilla extract so I used almond instead and I only had 2 oz of nuts. So the next time I make this, I will do it the right way!! When pulling the cookies out of the oven, it's important to let them cool for about a min or so because they are so gooey in the center. But when they cool, they firm up and are sooo yummy and chewy!

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2011
So spicy and delicious, just the way we like them!! I followed the icing directions exactly, and the icing was super runny would not stay on the cookie. So instead, I dipped the cookies in the icing and let the excess drip off, let the cookie sit and the icing harden, and then I dipped it again. Mine were not bright orange as shown in the picture, but they sure were delicious!

Broccoli Chicken Roli

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2011
TIME SAVING TIP!! ( I always have trouble with the peppers being too crunchy in recipes)I cut up the pepper a week or so in advance and then put it in a zipper seal sandwich bag and froze it. Then a few days before I made this recipe I transfered the pepper to the fridge and thawed it out. To my surprise, the raw peppers were soft!!! I expected this flavor to be a standard cheesy chicken and broccoli taste, but WOW was I surprised when I took the first bite! The flavor had such amazing depth. I agree with most of the reviews, this made too much filling for one tube of rolls. This was my test run for my friends bridal shower, so the more filling the better!! Thanks for sharing and here's my two thumbs WAAAAAAY up!!

Meatball Sandwich

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
This was sooo good! I have a meatball cooker that drains the fat out of them so they were dry and soaked up the sauce perfectly. The spices in this recipe were perfectly proportioned. Next time I won't use baguette, it was too hard.

World's Best Egg Salad Sandwich

Well I wouldn't call it world's best, but it was very delicious. The pepper added a nice kick!

Mini Cheesecakes

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
When people asked me for this recipe, I always joked that it was the "Noah's Arc" of recipes, everything by 2's. These little cakes were so delicious and I usually have everything needed on hand to get the job done. Make sure you have a really good mixer, this will incorporate lots of air and make the cakes light and fluffy. Not to mention, there will be more batter. More batter=less calories per cake and more cakes!

Meat-Lover's Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
The flavor of this is so wonderful. There is enough here to feed an army though, and since there is only two of us, we wasted most of it, but next time we'll freeze it, or have company over!!

Valerie's Fruit Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
With a few simple ingredients that I always have on hand, I can think of a few ideas for this!! I used this as a filling for "stuffed pancakes" with some strawberries on top and it was dee-licious! It's also good by the spoonful! ;)

Christmas Morning Oatmeal

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
It's a good idea, but I'm glad I tried it before Christmas morning to avoid the great disappointment. This was really dry and over cooked. This may work with some alterations, such as...more liquid!!

Old Fashioned Hard Candy

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
This recipe was so easy to follow. I was very nervous about candy making because I was told it was very touchy...but it wasn't bad at all! But it did take FOREVER to get the candy up to 220 degrees, so I pulled up a chair and "watched a pot boil". I couldn't figure out how to cut the candy while it was still hot. But where I come from, people pour the candy into a cookie sheet and smash it with a hammer, so no one noticed. Be careful, because between 250 and 300 degrees, the sugar heats up very quickly. Also I had another recipe from the flavoring insert, and it said to put the coloring in at 250 degrees, and NOT with the flavoring. Other than that, no alterations were made to this recipe. Thanks for sharing!

Molasses Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
These were a great old fashioned Christmas cookie. The first batch blew up my mixer! (but that could be because it was about 30 years old!!) This was a hit at my parent's house because nobody in my family makes this type of cookie. This was a very simple, clean tasting cookie and I will be making it for years to come.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
Great for baking right away, and also great for freezing and baking at a later date. Cookie dough was just sticky enough, and worked so well when making shaped cookies, or round cookies. Don't forget to rub your cookie cutters in flour before using them.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
This was a delicious recipe. My husband loves his cookies and pie's on the "spicy" side, and his favorite cookie is oatmeal, so it was a match made in heaven. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. We're not a fan of raisins, so we left that out, but next time we're going to try dried cranberries just to see how that tastes.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2010
I can see why this recipe was award winning. I made a few trays of cookies the day I found this recipe and I thought they were 5 star. I decided to wait to review it to see how the cookes came out when I froze the batter, and you know what? They were just as good!! I followed the suggestions of another baker though and added the salt and extra vanilla. These were the best cookies I've ever made. Thanks for sharing!!

Shortbread Meltaways

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
This was the worst cookie I've ever eaten or made. 11 mintues was too long and the first batch burned, and then when I tried a cookie that was not burned it was an awful consistancy. I followed this recipe exactly and they were not good. This is not a cookie that I would lovingly make for my family and friends.

Cherry Limeade II

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2010
This recipe calls for a little too much grenadine. My glasses have beveled edges and it was just a few cm's above the edge, so I think I'll fill it up to the edge next time. This drink was so easy and looked so beautiful. One lime will make about 8 glasses, so one lime, a case of soda, and a bottle of grenadine makes 8 happy people!! After making this over and over and over and over, I found that it's best to roll the lime before you cut it to make it really juicy. This is the perfect drink for Christmas because of the colors. Pour the grenadine in first, then squeeze the lime and throw that in the grenadine, this will stain the inside of the lime red and then pour the soda on top. This makes for a very FESTIVE drink!!

Pumpkin Waffles with Apple-Cranberry Relish

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
The apple-cranberry relish was my favorite part! It was so good, we just ate it with a spoon after the waffles/pancakes were gone! I tried to make waffles but they kept falling apart when I would take them out of my waffle maker. It's a new waffle maker, so maybe it's the cook and not the recipe. When eating the waffles alone I thought they were not going to be sweet enough, but they were the perfect flavor when mixed with the relish. I ended up making pancakes instead. This is going to be our Christmas morning breakfast for sure! All in all, a delicious recipe to add to my basket of tricks. Thanks for sharing Amie!

Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2010
This is an easy punch. I needed it really quickly, and the soda from the store was warm. I just put the sherbert in first, and poured the soda over it and it was just the right temp! Very delicious, I'm using raspberry sherbert for my friends Bridal Shower because it's pink! Great for a baby shower too!!
