Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2007
Mom's in the hospital, went to her house to check things out and found three very ripe bananas, came home and checked out your webesite and found this recipe and found everything I needed in my kitchesn and was able to prepare this reciepe. I added some walnuts to some of the cups since Mom can't eat nuts. WOW, these were great. Any good baker should everything they need to make this recipe. Yum!!

Black-Eyed Pea Chowder

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2006
I first made this recipe the day after New Year's in 1999 when I had a bowl full of peas left. My variation on this recipe is to use one can of Rotel tomatoes and a 14 ounce can of regular diced tomatoes or stewed tomatoes. Of course being soup, you can anything you desire. If you don't have Rotel tomatoes, add a small can of green chiles or jalepenos to taste. Enjoy!

DOLE Mandarin Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2006
I omitted the chicken as I was using the salad as an accompaniment to another Asian entree. I added toasted almond slices and a few thin slices of water chestnuts. I also use Newman's Own Low Fat Sesame Ginger Dressing. It turned out really good.

Microwave Pralines

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2003
I've tried this recipe twice in the last two days. The first try came out okay but was a little drier than I like. For the second try, I used three-quarters of a cup of heavy cream instead of two-thirds of a cup. This made the candy a bit smoother and glossier. Also, being a Southern girl with lots of pecan trees around me, I made them a little larger than the teaspoonful. I ended up making about 18 each recipe. I had no trouble with burning pecans or batter being runny. I will definitely make them again. NOTE: This website does not identify slashes or maybe even other characters other than numbers and letters.

Mongolian Beef I

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2002
This was a very tasty and easy recipe. I recommend slicing the round steak very thin or you will have to cook it a little longer than indicated. I used fresh sliced mushrooms (my husband requested them) and more carrots and green onions than listed.

Trout with Almond-Herb Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2001
This is really a yummy recipe. Instead of grilling the fish, I cooked it on top of the stove frying it in a bit of olive oil, just a few minutes on each side. I used dried thyme and did not grind the almonds too fine. My daughter who normally only likes fish fried in a cornmeal batter really enjoyed the fish.
