Italian Sausage Soup with Tortellini

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2014
My family gives this recipe a double thumbs up! Delicious with some of the changes that others mentioned. I used 4 cans of beef broth, a cup of water and a 1/2 cup red wine because I too wanted extra broth. I used fresh baby spinach instead of zucchini. I also used 1 can of diced tomatoes and 1 can of stewed tomatoes instead of fresh tomatoes. Topped with grated Parmesan cheese before serving and served with hot, fresh from the oven loaf of bread. I will definitely Mae this one again.

Black Bean, Corn and Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2013
This was a good base for a turkey chili. I did make some of the suggested changes. I used only 1 tablespoon of chili powder, added chopped garlic instead of garlic powder, added a can of rotel tomatoes and even added a can of tomato paste because I found it to be way to runny for a chili. the tomatoe paste thickened it up to a better consistency. has a lot of kick.

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2010
This has quickly turned into a family favorite. I do add a can of cream of mushroom soup to the gravy. I brown the patties and then put them in a foil lined casserole dish. Cover with the gravy and then and bake at 350 for about 30 minutes at the advice of another reviewer. The first time I made it I also added a packet of onion soup mix and it was just too much!! the 2nd time it was perfect.

Grilled Lemon Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2010
This is a great marinade! tasty and better than I had expected. I do marinate longer than 20 minutes. The only thing I didn't have on hand was the red bell pepper so I omitted and it was still great. We will definitely use this recipe again

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2010
This was my first attempt at french dip and my family loved this one! I made a few modifications. I used 2 cans of beef broth and a packet of dry onion soup mix because I forget to buy canned onion soup. I also added garlic, a tablespoon of worchestire sauce and a couple shakes of soy sauce. The flavor was fantastic. I used a 4 pound top round roast and it was not fatty and perfectly moist. I served it on toasted, buttered rolls. Will definitely make this one again.
