Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2001
Everyone was right! This was so moist and the broth was very tasty! I did take some others' advice and cut down on the cooking time. Now I won't have to worry about a dry bird! Thanks!!!

Kielbasa and Cabbage

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2001
WE LOVED IT! A fast and easy meal-what a relief! I did take some others' advice and cut the sugar in half. Also I used half the caraway seed. Thanks for sharing this!

Egg and Hash Brown Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2001
This is great! With the hash browns, there is no peeling! I added a small amount of bell pepper, more bacon, and one half cup more cheese. My husband said it is better than an omelet. I will be making this often. Thanks for sharing!!!

Sweet French Toast

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2001
A good overall recipe. I will use thick bread when I make again-regular white bread fell apart-maybe I soaked it too long. I added another egg, but the batter only was enough for 5 slices.

Meatloaf With A Bite

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2001
A GOOD MEATLOAF! I will be using this recipe from now on. I did add about 1/2 cup of bell pepper(my husband says it's not meatloaf without it). I think it might need a small amount of salt, but it is a snap to prepare! I shaped it in a casserole dish so it would brown-and it came out just right. Thanks, Katthy, you have a winner here!

Cream Peas

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2001
A great and tasty side dish. This is soo easy, I will make it often. The only thing I will change is to use half the flour, the sauce was just a bit too thick-otherwise a real keeper! Thanks for sharing this recipe.

Bill's Blue Cheese Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2001
The best blue cheese dressing recipe I've ever made! My husband-who isn't a big salad eater-had a salad 3 days in a row! Maybe next time, I'll try it with minced garlic. This is so easy, I will keep some on hand all the time! Thanks, Bill, for sharing this with everyone!

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2001
What a delicious and easy meal! I used a beef tip roast. I didn't have any beer in the house, but wanted to try it anyway. It was soo tender and the gravy was yummy. The French onion soup is a great ingredient, I think. I will be making this often-next time with the beer!

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2001
Wow! What a great soup! My husband said I had to make this again, after the first spoonful! I scaled it to 6 servings and used a little less broth and a little more milk. I also added 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese. Some of the reviews said to add less garlic and a little more cornstarch, which is what I did. I will make this often--it is sooo simple and sooo delicious!

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2001
Delicious & very easy! I fixed this great pudding and went right with the recipe, except I only added 1/4 cup raisins. The next time I make it I will put the 1/2 cup it calls for. Thanks, Ellen, for a bread pudding that reminds me of my grandmother's recipe!

Baked Salmon Fillets Dijon

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2001
This is a delicious baked fish recipe! I wanted to try it for supper tonight. I didn't have any salmon on hand. I had some frozen flounder filets so I used them. It was very tasty! I will use salmon the next time I make this. My husband doesn't usually like baked fish, but he ate two pieces. He said it didn't have a "fishy" taste. It looks like I will be serving baked fish more often! Thanks, Christine

Oven-Fried Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2001
At last!! A baked pork chop recipe my husband loves! I took some reviewer's advice and used seasoned bread crumbs. I also found I needed to cook the chops longer than the recipe called for. This is a great tasting recipe that I will be making instead of pan fried chops! Thanks Rachel!

Delicious! Next time I will double the recipe. My husband loved it. Served it over mashed potatoes. I did thicken the gravy a bit. Thanks, Jessica, for the easy and tasty recipe.

Oklahoma Cheese Grits

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2001
Very good! Since it was just me and my husband, I scaled this for 6--used a 7 x 10 inch baking dish and it was just right. I also only cooked it about 40 minutes and it was lightly browned and creamy. I will be making this often, especially in the colder months! Thanks, Mollie, for this great recipe!

Barbecued Beef

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2001
Finally --a barbecue sauce my husband loved that he didn't make!! He really was impressed with the sandwiches. The following week I made it with pork but it wasn't quite as good. Knowing how good the sauce is, I don't even mind shredding the roast! If anyone likes great barbecue, give the one a try, you will love it!

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2001
I made this last Sunday. It was a big hit with everyone. Instead of putting all the cheese on top, I mixed half in with the casserole and put the rest on top. It is the best green bean casserole I have found. Thanks, Amy,for sharing this great recipe!

Apple Dumplings I

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2001
I made this last night. I used a rolling pin to flatten the dough. I also used only 1/2 cup of water and it made plenty of sauce. It is one of the best desserts I have ever made. If you don't try this one, you don't know what you are missing! D. Tyler
