My favorite things to cook
Apple Pie. I feel like pie making is becoming a lost art. I love to make my pies from scratch using real butter (or palm oil-for an unbelievably flaky crust!) real apples, fragrant cinnamon, and dried cranberries! Yum.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Overnight casseroles for Christmas breakfast, hearty warm stews and soups in the fall and winter, and anything and everything grilled in the summer.
My cooking tragedies
My attempt at tofu stroganhoff. It was a disaster that ended up going down the disposal.

French Baguettes
My oldest just returned from France as a French exchange student. She said that they had baguette with lunch and dinner everyday. She said she even saw a baguette vending machine! So, I new I wanted to find a baguette recipe that would be easy. This recipe is simple, easy and my family loves the results. The baguettes turn out soft on the inside and lightly crusty on the outside. I also love that the ingredient list is so simple. No dough enhancers, fat, and less sugar than my sandwich bread that I make. I love using my bread maker for this. I put the ingredients in the pan and put the timer on depending on how my day is looking. The bread machine does all the work. I just roll out the dough and bake it. Voila! Fresh soft delicious baguettes.

Bacon Ranch Chicken Skewers
These were fantastic. They had such a great flavor to them and were incredibly juicy. I served them at a dinner party and guests raved about them. They were also incredibly easy to make. Definitely will make them again.

Hungarian Goulash I
This was a great recipe. It had such a unique sweet, spicy, and tanginess to it. It probably would have been a totally different dish if I had used Hungarian Paprika and I finally got some and will try this recipe again.
