Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2005
This had a bit too much of a garlic taste for me but was still good. I also froze some of the soup and it heats up quite well.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2004
Very good recipe. I left out one can of tomatos because my crockpot was to the point of overflowing. I used chicken broth because we don't like the alcohol flavor. The reason I'm giving it a 4 is because, while it was very good, it wasn't the best chili-type soup I've had.

Beef Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2004
Good recipe. I used beef broth instead of the water and bouillon and the soup ended up perfectly salted. I didn't have any frozen noodles on hand so I used dry egg noodles. I gave it a 4 only because it wasn't the best however it was very good and I'd make it again. Perhaps the frozen noodles would make it even better.

Baked Potato Soup I

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2004
5+ Stars! This soup is delicious. My husband who won't eat ANYTHING with sour cream even loves it. I like to chop up a yellow onion (about 3/4 cup) and saute it with the butter in the beginning. Then I add a few green onions for the color in the end. I also add extra cheese. Make sure you leave plenty of time for prepping. Between the skinning of the potatoes, frying the bacon and chopping everything up, it takes a little longer than expected. It is worth it though! Also, be sure to use SHARP or even extra sharp cheese for a good zing!

Simple Beef Flavored Gravy

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2004
Better than canned gravy but of course it can't compare to gravy made from meat drippings. If I make this again I'm going to try adding some spices. It needs more than just the onions.

Chocolate Chip Pie I

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2004
Just like a big chocolate chip cookie with a smoother texture. Very rich and very good. It was best warm with vanilla ice cream. All of my chocolate chips sank to the bottom of the pie. I'm not sure if there is any way to avoid that though. Still tasted great.

Chicken Wild Rice Soup I

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2004
This is the second chicken/wild rice soup I've tried from this site. It is excellent. The almonds gave a nice crunch and interesting taste - my father's favorite thing about the soup. I used white wine instead of sherry but next time I'll either use more white wine or try the sherry because you could hardly taste it. I made the mistake of making two cups DRY wild rice and had about enough to sink a battleship. Ended up with two pots of soup though which was nice.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2004
Very tasty. My husband loved this. I did add twice as much ham as well as an extra 3/4 cup of potatoes. I like my soup packed! This and the House Fried Rice are my favorite leftover ham recipes.

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2004
Yummmm. Very good. I also added celery and carrots like another reviewer recommended. The soup was thick and ended up being packed with chicken, rice and veggies (I used a little extra of all of them). My mom said it was "better than Panera's" and my husband said "definitely a repeat."

House Fried Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2004
Wow. My husband and I decided to make this simply to use our leftover Easter ham. However after trying it we've decided that we can't just wait until we have leftover meat to make this - it's too good to wait for those sporadic times! We both kept saying "Wow" as we ate. We used 2 1/2 cups of honey ham. Next time we'll try chicken. Basically, you can't go wrong with this recipe. It's going on my FAVORITES list!

Quiche

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2004
Yum yum yum is all I can say. This was excellent - I used about 1 cup of ground sausage instead of the ham (we like lots of meat) and substituted cheddar. Our company RAVED over this. I was hoping it would be a thicker quiche. I think I might try to add another egg and more milk next time. But still - you can't beat the taste! And it was so convenient to have it on hand in the freezer.

Wisconsin Cheese Soup II

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2003
Wow - this soup was awesome! I did make a few modifications - first I used about 3/4 - 1 cup of onions (onion lover), 1 1/2 tsp of bouillon and I used celery instead of broccoli. I had to add more water to the flour and butter because the onions soaked up most of the liquid. This recipe was so good that I plan to make it a staple in our home. Thanks!!

Very good! This bread disappeared fast when I brought it into the office. The batch with the mini chocolate chips was my favorite.

Very tasty but also very salty. Next time I would follow another's suggestion of using lite soy sauce. Definitely worth trying!

Easy Ground Beef Stroganoff

I followed the recipe exactly and it was pretty bland. At the end we added whatever we could think of to spice it up and it was okay, just average.

Candy Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2003
This was excellent! We ate it straight from the ice cream maker and my husband said it was like a Blizzard. The next day, after freezing a while longer, it was a creamy frozen consistency, more like traditional hard ice cream. Both days it was wonderful!

Chicken Rotini Stovetop Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2003
This was very good. I used fat free half and half and added a little cornstarch. My company still had not arrived when it was done so I threw it all in a casserole dish in the oven at 300. This thickened it up more. When I served it we sprinkled freshly grated parmesan cheese on top. Yum!

Indonesian Satay

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2003
Wow! I've never made a satay before but you can bet I'll be making this again and again now. My husband and I loved it! We were torn between eating just the marinated chicken and dipping it in the sauce - both were so great. I did marinate the chicken for 4 hours which made it very tender.
