I have never had a black bean patty before, so I really have nothing to base this recipe on BUT these taste amazing! I made them for a big barbeque because my friend couldn't eat meat (lent). She was so happy I thought of her but even more so when she tasted them. She raved about the flavor! One thing that was different when i made them was that I used black beans that I had boiled myself. Maybe that was the difference it need but my patty formed really nicely. I did have a little problem with stickiness, but if I sprinkled a little bread crumbs on the patty before forming, there was no problems. Also, I couldn't get them to stop sticking to the foil on the grill, so I ended up pan frying them with a little bit of veggie oil and it gave them a nice little crust on the outside. I will definitely be making these again for our next barbeque.
