Fried Cabbage II

Best Tuna Casserole

Really good tuna casserole. I made some changes (didn't have potato chips, used bread crumbs) and moistened by adding 1 can of cream of chedder cheese soup rather than the 2nd can of cream of mushroom. Saute the onions in butter first so they will not have an overpowering taste that some reviewers complained about. Will definately make again.

Sloppy Joes II

Good. Very similar to the one I make, but I never measure a single ingredient (just eyeball it). Now I have the correct porportions. Next time I will leave out the mustard, just my preference.

My Country Style Steak

Enjoyed this very much. The key is slicing the steak before cooking. I actually used my kitchen shears rather than a knife to cut the meat. Also, by slicing the steak I could fit all of it into my fry pan. Sauce was good and thickened up well. No complaints here.

Egg Salad Sandwiches

Tuna Fish Salad

This tuna salad was great, The addition of lemon juice made this special. I appreciate that there was no pickle relish in this tuna fish salad. Whoever decided to add pickle relish to tuna and chicken salad, potato salad and deviled eggs need to go back to the kitchen. Just my personal preference.

White Chili

I really enjoyed this. Made at the suggestion of my daughter who tasted something similar at a chili cookoff. Being from the midwest I had NEVER tasted any chili other than tomato based. You definately need to give this a try. It is easy to prepare and will be added to my list of comfort foods. My mission is to add of decent photo of this recipe. Taste better than it looks.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Wonderful Banana Bread. Loved the idea of dusting the greased pan with cinnamon and sugar. I sprinkled natural cane sugar (Sugar in the Raw) over the loaves before placing in the oven to bake. This added a nice sugary crunch to the top. Will make again.

Warm Tuna Buns

The combination seems strange, however it works. These are great to make ahead (don't bake ahead) then freeze. When ready to eat, just defrost on the counter for an hour or so and pop into a slow oven (250 degree) for about 30 minutes. My MIL introduced these to me (she made hers with chopped chicken rather than tuna), however the tuna version is my favorite. Please don't tell my MIL I said that.

Pittsburgh Chipped Ham Barbecues

Way too salty. Maybe I could rinse the chipped ham, but I feel my blood pressure rising. I will try other recipes to see if they fit the bill of real chipped ham sandwiches,

Tuna Cashew Casserole

This brings back some memories. I remember this being served at my college cafeteria, which actually had some pretty good food. I just remember it being quite salty. I would use unsalted cashews and reduced fat and/or sodium soup.

Chicken Divan

Good stuff. I misplaced a recipe similar to this which omitted the water chestnuts and the cheddar cheese. I use about 3/4 cups of butter bread crumbs in place of the cheddar cheese which reduces the fat and still taste great. Used a reduced fat soup also. The curry powder and the lemon juice are the statrs in this recipe, don't omit these two ingredients.

Slow Cooker Pepper Steak

Good but a bit salty for my taste, however that is easy to correct (low sodium soy salt). I will make this again and again. Served with brown rice and egg rolls.
