My son and I
About this Cook
I've picked up the art of cooking again after my wife gave birth to our son seven months ago. With a little one, we can't afford to go out as much so I've tried to bring the gourmet home fresh out of my kitchen. I'm learning as I go and people keep wanting to eat my new experiments so that's a good thing!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything that tastes good and we're not allergic to or don't eat. I can't limit selections to favorites because then there's a limit on variety. I always try to mix it up so each night is something different even if the meat is the same.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother's "Not-so Sloppy Joe's". I also love making traditional roasts with gravy and potatoes and cooked veggies. It's comfort food to server to friends and family.
My cooking triumphs
I just started baking and I made some Cinnamon Raisin cookies and some Yorkshire Pudding like Mom used to make. It's fun to bake new things and learn new recipes!
My cooking tragedies
I met my wife through an online video game that we play. The first night that I was moved in, I decided to make her favorite dinner, steak. I hadn't cooked anything in about 7 years and I was using a new stove to boot. It was bad...I think my sandals were more tender lol. Oh well, good times!

Depression Cake II
I made this last night for my family and even my 2 year old LOVED it! We absolutely devoured a full loaf after dinner. Now I had to change it a little because of what I had on hand at the time. I only had 1 cup of raisins ;-(. So I added a frozen mix of fruits that included cherries, strawberries, blueberries, and black currents. It turned out splendidly, thank you so much for an amazing recipe that I will be making on a regular basis now!

Cindy's Tasty Wings
I saw your recipe tonight and decided to make it for myself and my girlfriend. I looked for the ingredients in the fridge and had to "wing" it a little (so to speak). I used Orange Marmalade instead of the Apricot Jam, with a little fresh shredded ginger root, and Russian Dressing instead of Catalina. It turned out pretty good and next grocery day I'll be trying the recipe as it was ment. But GREAT recipe all together ;-D Thank You!
