About this Cook
I'm a new cook. I just married a professional chef and it's a bit intimidating having to have a delicious dinner on the table every night. Who knew cereal isn't "cooking".
My favorite things to cook
Chili and soups.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Over-cooking everything! It's a family trait. If it's juicy it isn't done.
My cooking triumphs
To date: none
My cooking tragedies
Oreo cookie ball truffles. I dipped them in chocolate and let them cool on the counter. Of course they stuck to the counter & I had to cut them off. No one told me to use wax paper!

Slow Cooker Pot Roast
This turned out great! My husband the chef even said it's one of the best pot roasts he's ever had. I thought the three mixes seemed like a little much, but I proceeded anyway. The only thing I really changed was adding more water. I added more like 1 1/2 cup of water. The gravy wasn't super thick but it would probably be super salty without the extra water. I also used a top round roast instead of a chuck roast. I'm not sure what the difference is but it turned out great. I will make this again

Roasted Red Pepper Soup
I followed this recipe pretty closely. It wasn't my favorite. I felt that it needed something. The pepper taste needed a littele tempering. If I made this again I might try adding cream at the end like someone else suggested. I may skip the mushrooms too. They just didn't make sense to me.

Tofu Keema
Loved this. I followed the recipe pretty closely, however, I didn't have cumin seeds. I just threw in a little ground cumin. I also used a can of diced tomatos instead of fresh tomatos. I think this added the extra liquid that some of the other reviwers felt this dish was missing. I added an extra teaspoon of minced ginger too. I really enjoy that flavor. I served this over jasmine rice. It was even better the next day for lunch.
