Zippy Hot Wings

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2011
We thought these were good but not great. We need to find a homemade Italian dressing recipe to make since we are just not fond of the store brands. We will give this one another try.

Pepperoncini Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2011
WOW! This was fantastic!! I miss read the recipe and bought a jar of mild banana peppers instead of the pepperoncinis. Served over toasted hoggie rolls topped with spicy brown mustard, low sodium provel sliced cheese and sliced jalapenos. My hubby is already asking when I'm making these again. Did I already mention that these are fantastic!!!

Ranch Dressing and Dip Mix

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
Cut this down to 1 serving to go into "bangin steak rub" from this site which was an awesome rub for our steaks. Can't wait to make this soon as a dressing.

Chili Seasoning Mix I

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
Made this to go into the "bangin steak rub" from this site, which was an awesome rub for our steaks. I am going to try this in chili soon. How can it be chili seasoning mix without any chili powder?

Bangin' Steak Rub

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
This was very good on our steaks tonight. I thought 1/2 cup brown sugar was a lot, so I cut way back, wish I had used more. Made the homemade "chili seasoning mix 1" and the "ranch dressing and dip mix" from this site. Everything else exactly as written. Next time, up the brown sugar.

Garbage Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2011
Browned beef with garlic and onion. Added 3 diced potatoes (6 was too much), can rotel tomatoes with green chilies, celery, broth, vegetables, rosemary, thyme, basil, bacon and water. Added more broth, some oregano and extra pepper. Tomorrow, the bacon will be soggy. Next time, I'll leave it out. We will keep our leftover veggies in the freezer for this recipe.

To get the bacon texture we like, it took about 20-25 minutes. PERFECTION!

Banana Nut Oatmeal

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2011
This tasted just like warm banana nut bread. I substituted wheat germ for flax seed and 1T light maple syrup for 1T honey (used 2T honey). My whole office at work was asking "what is that smell?". My new breakfast!!!

Pirate's Delight

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2011
Made exactly as written. It was good but not great. It was kind of bland. I will make this again and experiment with different seasonings to bring this dish up to a five.

Homemade Shake and Bake Mixture

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2011
Used this as the coating for our chicken tenders tonight. Only difference was to substitute garlic powder for the garlic salt. My daughter asked if we were eating "Shake and Bake". Made this with the "cajun spicy potato wedges". We will keep this one in the rotation for sure.

Made exactly as written. Paired it with "Cajun Spicy Potato Wedges" and "Homemade Shake and Bake Mixture" chicken tenders both from this site. Next time, I'll make a double batch because we had zero left.

Easiest Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
Used light real mayo, 1tsp red wine vinegar, minced garlic, salt and pepper and a lot more skim milk. This is good and very thick as written. The added ingredients really put this one over the top. This would also be great as a turkey or ham sandwich spread. My hubby is going to try it on his french fries.

Soothing Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2011
We used celery, 3 cans chicken broth and 1 can beef broth, healthy request cream of chicken soup, instant brown rice, homemade onion soup mix (from this site), poultry seasoning, dried thyme and pepper. Did not use the seasoned salt. Between the broth and onion soup mix, it is already very salty. Will make again using reduced salt products.

We halved the recipe and used ground turkey in place of the ground beef. Did not use any butter. Used reduced fat sour cream. Next time, will add some garlic. Served with salad and "whole wheat beer bread" from this site.

Whole Wheat Beer Bread

This was so easy to put together and we had everything on hand. Cut the salt way down. Really good flavor and not dry. Crunchy crust. Had to eat a piece still warm with butter.

Cream Cheese Garlic Spread

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2011
I used 1 individual package of WW (weight watchers) cream cheese spread, 1/8 tsp garlic powder and 1/8 tsp dried chives. Used instead of mayo on my turkey sandwich for lunch. Would be great melted over pasta, on garlic bread and even over fish. The possibilities are endless!
