Homemade Shake and Bake Mixture

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2011
Used this as the coating for our chicken tenders tonight. Only difference was to substitute garlic powder for the garlic salt. My daughter asked if we were eating "Shake and Bake". Made this with the "cajun spicy potato wedges". We will keep this one in the rotation for sure.

Kickin' Dippin' Fry Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2011
Made exactly as written. Paired it with "Cajun Spicy Potato Wedges" and "Homemade Shake and Bake Mixture" chicken tenders both from this site. Next time, I'll make a double batch because we had zero left.

Easiest Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
Used light real mayo, 1tsp red wine vinegar, minced garlic, salt and pepper and a lot more skim milk. This is good and very thick as written. The added ingredients really put this one over the top. This would also be great as a turkey or ham sandwich spread. My hubby is going to try it on his french fries.

This one sounded like fun so we tried it. Be careful, ours started to smoke at the 2 minute mark.

Used 1 5oz can chicken, chopped onion, light real mayo, salsa, pepper and a handful of bag salad lettuce. I have even used light sour cream and salsa instead of the mayo.

Soothing Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2011
We used celery, 3 cans chicken broth and 1 can beef broth, healthy request cream of chicken soup, instant brown rice, homemade onion soup mix (from this site), poultry seasoning, dried thyme and pepper. Did not use the seasoned salt. Between the broth and onion soup mix, it is already very salty. Will make again using reduced salt products.

We halved the recipe and used ground turkey in place of the ground beef. Did not use any butter. Used reduced fat sour cream. Next time, will add some garlic. Served with salad and "whole wheat beer bread" from this site.

Whole Wheat Beer Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2011
This was so easy to put together and we had everything on hand. Cut the salt way down. Really good flavor and not dry. Crunchy crust. Had to eat a piece still warm with butter.

Cream Cheese Garlic Spread

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2011
I used 1 individual package of WW (weight watchers) cream cheese spread, 1/8 tsp garlic powder and 1/8 tsp dried chives. Used instead of mayo on my turkey sandwich for lunch. Would be great melted over pasta, on garlic bread and even over fish. The possibilities are endless!

I also had some trouble mixing without any liquid. Very good flavor. I know it has spinach in it because I put it in, but you can't taste it.

Gourmet White Pizza with Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2011
Awesome pizza. Made with "whole wheat and honey pizza dough" from this site. For the alfredo sauce made "fettuccini alfredo sauce II" also from this site. Didn't use the pesto and added fresh chopped spinach. This one is going into the weekly rotation for sure!

Throw Together Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2011
Used ground beef, canned corn, medium salsa, black olives, egg noodles, pinto beans (didn't have kidney), homade taco seasoning 1 (from this site), 1 8oz can tomato sauce with basil and oregano and 1/2 cup water. What a great recipe to make to your liking or to use what you have on hand. I didn't bake it, just threw together on top of the stove. This makes a lot of dinner. I can't believe that 1/4th of this is 1 serving because 3 of us ate and we still have some leftovers.

Spaghetti Sauce Mix

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2011
Used 1tsp each sugar and salt and no sweet pepper flakes (didn't have any). Used the Italian Dressing Mix (from this site) for the Italian seasoning. Everything else the same. Used it to make the "Cola Pot Roast 1" from this site. Can't wait to try it in spaghetti.

Cola Pot Roast I

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2011
Used 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes (salt free) and added oregano and 1/2 tsp garlic powder. Homemade dry spaghetti sauce from this site. Everything the same minus the salt(s) and oil. Threw it all into the crock pot and went to work. Came home and steamed potatoes and carrots. Delish and so easy!

This recipe as is, is way to salty, almost inedible. I will make again and alter the steak seasoning.

Cut the recipe way down for our family. Used a Jack/Cheddar cheese blend and a slice of 2% milk pepperjack instead of the green chilies. Used light sour cream. Very, very good and simple!
