Absolutely Awesome BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2008
Enjoyed this sauce immensely, the only change was using 1/2 cup of brown sugar, and 3 cloves of garlic. Next time I may try it with Jack Daniels just for a change, but will definitely use it again. Will probably double the recipe so I have extra, but this one did cover two racks of ribs that I did on my Big Green Egg smoker.

Potato Minestrone

Reviewed: May 8, 2008
We enjoyed this recipe. The only change I made was to use fresh baby spinach at the end instead of frozen. Next time I will try macaroni instead of the hash browns, but they were good for a change.

We enjoyed this recipe. Next time I will check after 4 hours, the rice was a little over done, but still tasted good.

We really enjoyed this hearty soup, and I will be making it often in the winter. Wonderful with thick-sliced homemade bread.

Hearty Beef Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2008
We enjoyed this recipe. Since I like to serve stew with creamy mashed potatoes, I left out the potatoes, but added diced turnip and parsnips. Also only used 1 1/2 cups beef broth, but added 1/2 cup red wine.

Fresh Asparagus and Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2007
We enjoyed this recipe, I made as written except I didn't have asparagus so used broccoli, but will try with asparagus as soon as I can get some nice fresh stuff.

Beef, Bean and Barley Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2007
Very tasty recipe. I used a can of mixed beans instead of great northern beans, and couldn't find quick-cooking barley, so par-boiled pot barley before adding. Next time I would use 2 lbs. of meat. I cooked for about an hour and 20 minutes to get the meat nice and tender, and reduce the liquid.

The Best Vegetarian Chili in the World

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
This recipe lives up to it's claim. To make it very similar to an award-winning chili recipe from a BBQ competition that I love, I added 1 tsp. cocoa powder and 1 tsp. cinnamon, not usual chili ingredients, but they give a unique taste. Will make often.

Curried Leek Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2007
Very nice soup - it will be added to my list of favourites. Next time I might up the curry to 1 teaspoon for a little more zip.

Laura's Unbelievable Chicken and Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2006
Very nice recipe. I followed it as written, except I used rotini instead of penne pasta, and didn't use quite as much pasta as called for, so I found it had just enough sauce.

Beef Potpie

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2006
We enjoyed this recipe - a great way to use leftover roast beef. Since I had leftover gravy, I used it instead of the beef broth, and it was very tasty.

Very good. Next time I would use half the cumin since my husband thought it was a little hot.

Scott Hibb's Amazing Whisky Grilled Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2006
Scott Hibbard is the god of BBQ in my books. After trying numerous recipes looking for the perfect rib recipe, I've finally found it. The only minor complaint I could make is the meat was so tender, I lost a few little bits in the BBQ process. The sauce is fantastic.
