About this Cook
I'm a college student who has recently decided that me previous major of film editing just wasn't right. So starting my second year of college in Oct. I begin as a new culinary major.
My favorite things to cook
Pastries and desserts. I love cooking anything and everything, but I think I'm really leaning towards leading the sweet, sinful life of a pastry chef.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmother makes the most delicious traditional German dishes, I can't pronounce the names, and I don't have a deep fryer, so she still takes the cake on those.
My cooking triumphs
Chocolate souffle!
My cooking tragedies
I don't take these very well at all. And I've had a lot. I made a turkey meatloaf once that was disgusting, and I tried to make a blackberry basil pie, which tasted awful!

Vegetarian Korma
This is absolutely delicious! After 3 disasterous attempts at making Indian food, I gave up much to the dissapointment of my boyfriend and my dad. I didn't try again until this recipe, and it brought me back! I was sloppy with the spices, as I felt it needed more, and I added red pepper flakes and cayenne, just for warmth. This is a keeper!

Strawberry Nut Muffins
Ok you guys, I got it. I tried this recipe on a whim this morning as I went strawberry picking yesterday and the muffins are FANTASTIC!!! Follow the recipe as is (I used a little less sugar as my strawberries are very sweet and ripe),use a smidgen more cinnamon and only use 1/4 tsp. nutmeg. As suggested my a previous reviewer use 1 egg, 1/4 cup oil, and 1 cup milk. Also mix in 1 and 1/4 cup chopped strawberries and 1 cup finely chopped (use food processor) pecans. Use muffin tin liners and fill to top, quickly mix up heaping tbs. of flour, heaping tbs brown sugar and 1 tbs butter, mix until crumbly and sprinkle on top. *This crumble is magic, it wont stay on top, but sinks in a bit for a delicious little extra oomph! BAKE FOR 20 MIN. And voila! Moist, cakey, strawberry-y muffins!

Angel Food Cake II
I don't like Angel Food Cake and this was also my first try making it. It was a hit as my Grandma's 90th Birthday Cake. It was completely demolished. Easy to follow, simple recipe!
