I am a devout Christian mother of 3 and young grandmother of 1. I enjoy working hard on my 9 to 5 job everyday. I have always enjoyed baking ever since I was a little girl. My Mom supported me then just like she does now. She always let me go in the kitchen and bake whatever I wanted to. If the dish came out bad she never complained about me wasting food. I don't know if I was so patient with my kids. Well I guess her patience paid off because now I bake and cook all kinds of special foods for my Mom and everybody I know.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook? Hmmm... DESSERTS!!!! Hands down I love baking cakes, pies, cobbler, pudding. You name it and I will try it and add my own spin on it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Favorite cooking tradition is: Sweet Potato Pie for dessert on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Holding hands and blessing the food before we eat. That's probably why it taste so good. (God is pleased) :-)

Buttermilk Chess Pie (I have not been able to master it) How is that possible!! Ugh!!! :-) One of these days I will get it done. Defeat does not look good on me.

Baked Parmesan-Crusted Chicken
I have made this on a couple of occasions. I fell in love the first time I tried it. I love Parmesan Cheese so when I came across the recipe I knew there was a good chance I'd like it. And baking verses frying is ALWAYS a plus. Anywho... I was SO IMPRESSED! My 19 & 20 year old offsprings (who can be difficult to please sometimes, since they have so much access to fast food) really enjoyed it and had seconds if memory serves. Mine is a little bit different from this recipe however. I don't cook anything on the stove. I put a stick of butter in the 9 x 13 casserole dish and place it in the oven for about 5 minutes to melt. I season the meat with salt, pepper & seasoned salt, then dip it in 2/3 cup of milk, and roll it around in a mixture of 2 cups of flour, 1 cup of Shredded Parmesan cheese, 2 tbspn dried chives n 2 tbspn dried basil leaves, salt & pepper. Once meat is covered with the mixture. I press them in the butter in the casserole dish and bake uncovered on 350 degrees F for 45 to 50 mins. Talk about comfort food... Just make yourself comfortable because you will be happy when you're done. I think it looks good too! The next time I make it maybe I will give it enough time to cool and I can take some pictures to post on the site. Before I knew it they were half gone, and I made extra this time.

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes
Very Good! Definitely creamy in my opinion. I cooked these for dinner, for me and my hubby after I had been having a craving for them for a long time. The way that I had intended to fix them were totally different than this recipe and I know the result wouldn't have matched up. My husband even went back for seconds. I found myself nibbling off of them everytime I went in the kitchen. To the person that said they were bland, (this is not meant to seem rude but) you probably under seasoned the potatoes during the preperation process. Mine didn't turn out to be bland at all, especially since there were onions. I suggest you give it another try! Good Luck. Von
