Grilled Bacon Jalapeno Wraps

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2010
So simple, full of flavor. Cooked them on a charcoal grill which added a great smokey flavor. I was super short on bacon when I made these and actually cut my bacon slices in quarters to make it stretch. Still tasted great and I think that using a full piece of bacon per half of jalapeno might be "too much." Will be making these again!

Bubble Pizza

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2010
Love this recipe. Have been making it for years. I always cook the biscuits completely first, as doughy crust is a BUMMER. I also lay a layer of cheese down before putting the sauce on, as cheese is hydrophobic and can prevent some of the sauce from soaking into biscuits. I vary the ingredients each time. Always turns out great.

Slow Cooker Italian Chicken Alfredo

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2010
Going to have to agree with everyone here and say the sauce was the real show stopper. Creamy and so full of flavor. I'm a garlic junkie and actually used a handful of cloves and I used fat free cream cheese and low fat or fat free...can't remember which...cream of chicken soup to make it a little less fattening. Turned out great. I also used a bunch of fresh mushrooms...many more than 4.5 ounces, as my boyfriend and I both love them. Also added cracked black pepper to taste and topped with shaved Parmesan cheese. This dinner was so easy...will definitely be making again.

I followed this recipe close to exact--I used a few more mushrooms and a little less cheese. SO GOOD. Will be making again.

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2010
This was SO good and easy! I let the meat get to room temperature, seasoned with salt and pepper then seared on high heat on each side. Once in the slow cooker I added a handful of crushed garlic cloves and about half an onion. After about 6 hours I took the meat out, sliced super thin and returned to slow cooker for an additional hour. I broiled the bread and melted some gruyere (left over from when I made french onion soup) and mozzarella. We LOVED it. My boyfriend added a little horseradish sauce to his. These turned out so so good. And the leftovers were even better. Will be making again.

Mini Sweet Potato Samosas

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2010
These were amazing! I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of adding a handful of pressed garlic into the water when the sweet potatoes were simmering, which were later mashed in. I was surprised at the beautiful color they got in the oven...I thought I would end up pan frying them, but they were perfect. Can't wait to make again.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: May 2, 2010
What an awesome recipe!! I'm always on the lookout for different ways to prepare tilapia. I had to change the recipe a bit and I think I will prepare it that way from now on. I used fresh basil and an actual onion and celery stalk. I threw all ingredients into a food processor and it made a nice mixture. Turned out awesome! I'm passing this recipe on to many others.

Crab Rangoon

Reviewed: May 6, 2010
Made a few changes, like most everyone else. I added a few tbsp of mayo--makes it unbelievably creamy. I didn't have any green onions, so I just used yellow. Doubled the garlic, and added a dash of sugar. I also substituted canned crab for fresh crab from the meat counter. They turned out so awesome.

Pickled Asparagus

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2010
I barely followed this recipe at all as I wanted spicy spears for bloody mary's and I know that the sugar takes the bite out of the vinegar. I will say that the asparagus prep directions were spot on. I also added smashed garlic cloves to each jar and a sliced red jalapeno and omitted the mustard and dill seed. I doubled the fresh dill. So, after a lot of adjustments I loved it.

Took the advice of other readers and added a bit of flour. I also used fresh garlic instead of the powder. Great way to use up left over mashed potatoes.

Buffalo Chicken Burgers with Blue Cheese Dressing

These were AWESOME. I did follow the advice of others by throwing in some bread crumbs and an egg. I also placed them in freezer for a while and they held up GREAT on the grill. First time eating a chicken burger and I loved it, can't wait to make again.

I had to use a little over 2 cups of basil along with a total of 4 cloves of garlic. Other than that followed the recipe and it turned out awesome.

Pesto Cheesy Chicken Rolls

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2010
This was amazing. Original recipe gets 4 stars, but with the adjustments made per the suggestions of the reviewers it's easily a 5 star. I made my own pesto, from a recipe I found here and I breaded my chicken. I think breading the chicken makes a huge huge huge difference. I will most definitely be making again.

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2010
This was my first quiche I've ever made and it was a huge hit. The whole thing was gone!! I did follow the advice of others and really cut out most of the butter. I also fried and diced a few slices of bacon to add. It was so delicious. I can't wait to make again...which I will because like others have noted...there was plenty of filling left over. I did cheat and buy a frozen pie crust...but it still turned out awesome.

Stuffed Green Peppers I

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2010
These were SO good!! I made a few substitutions that I was quite happy with. I used half ground beef/half Italian sausage. I also added a few diced cloves of garlic as well as diced jalapenos for a touch of heat. I left out the cheese...it just didn't seem entirely necessary and they turned out amazing. I can't wait to make these again. I cut the recipe in half, but still used the same amount of rice which I precooked. PRECOOK THE RICE!!

Butternut and Acorn Squash Soup

Great recipe!! Very easy. I used about half the brown sugar and added curry power to the onions when they were sauteeing. It made a ton so I canned the leftovers. Can't wait for fresh squash soup in the middle of winter!

Pasta Pomodoro

So simple and amazing. Only thing I did different was I sauteed shrimp and added the dried red pepper flakes to the shrimp then mixed it all in with the pasta. Left overs were even better.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2010
Great recipe. I chose to oven roast the carrots and celery instead of boil. I seasoned them with olive oil, and just a dash of pepper and poultry seasoning. I also chopped up potatoes and let them simmer in chicken broth seasoned with a little poultry seasoning. They soaked up all the broth and flavor. I seasoned my chicken breast with a little salt, pepper and poultry seasoning and broiled them. To the gravy, I added two cloves of garlic-diced. I made individual pot pies with ramekins and the cook time was approx 30 mins. They turned out AMAZING. My boyfriend said it was the best pot pie he's ever had, and I have to agree.
