I have three children and six grandchildren. My family means everything to me!
My favorite things to cook
I love seafood. So I do enjoy cooking crablegs, shrimp, mussels, oysters, scallops and all types of fish. I do think my favorite is Tilapia, though Red snapper is not far behind!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holidays are when my family really gets together. With teenagers in sports its hard to get everyone's schedule coordinated sometimes but,we do enjoy smoked or fried turkey, greens, mac & cheese, dressing, chicken and dumplings, potato salad and cornbread.Dessert is usually homemade poundcakes,Red velvet or coconut/pineapple cakes and sweet potato pie.Occasionally banana pudding. Feast for HOLIDAYS!
My cooking tragedies
Rice was the hardest thing for me. I thought if I put water in the pot added some rice how hard could it be? Once I started following directions, I can now do it! without measuring portions as I tried to do before!
