I'm a university student living in a dorm with a kitchen. Having moved straight from high school into a freshmen/sophomore dorm with a mandatory dining plan I didn't need to cook every meal. Now things have changed and I rely strictly on my own abilities.
My favorite things to cook
any kind of pasta and every possible cupcake recipe under the sun.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom inherited her mother's amazing recipe and I grew up eating almost anything. My mother's side of the family is Russian, so there was some eastern European. My dad's side has a tradition of commercial salmon fishing and fish was a constant growing up.
My cooking triumphs
cooking a WHOLE chicken that my floormates LOVED, as well as many delicious cupcake recipes and yummy liqueur icings!
My cooking tragedies
cake in a very small pan, and some sort of beet/squash/turnip concoction.
