Leek and Cheese Quiche

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2014
The family made this tonight. We don't care for bacon and were glad to find this simple and luscious quiche recipe. The leeks that I had came to more than 2 cups and used all of it anyway. There were a lot of reviews saying it was too much for a 9-inch pie. I made a crust to fit my 10-inch quiche pan and it was just right. Wonderful texture, taste. Served with steamed broccoli and white wine! Definitely will save this recipe and make it again.

Shemakes Instant Chai Tea

Reviewed: May 20, 2013
This is great! Just like others said, I had some at a party and liked it very much. Finding this recipe for homemade is lucky for me. I added cayenne pepper and black pepper to suit my taste. The summer weather is coming and I'm going to try it iced! Thank you, Nancy for developing this recipe and sharing.

Meatballs Mexicana and Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2013
My search was for a meatball with no egg and no bread crumbs. I was glad to find one. But the recipe is not really Mexican. The sauce is sweet and sour. Vinegar and brown sugar equals sweet/sour. So, instead, I used tomato sauce and Mexican spices as suggested, but increased the amounts and added more garlic too. I rated the recipe 4 stars because the meatball was what I wanted and the sauce was easy to change to my taste. One star off because the name of the recipe is misleading.

Middle Eastern Bean Dip (Foul Mudammas)

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2012
I'm watching an Ethiopian woman smashing the competition in the 10,000 meter race in the Olympics, London 2012! About this Foul Mudammas. I really like what I got with the changes I made. All Favas, no garbanzos, no water, 15 oz can tomato sauce, double the tahini and cumin. Excellent.

Zucchini Miso

Reviewed: May 7, 2012
This dressing is wonderful. I used it on a sprout salad and I believe it would be wonderful on any raw vegetable.

Creamed Eggs

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2012
This was a good use of eggs. I used almond milk instead of dairy milk and added a dash of mace. No pepper. Will make again. Thanks.

Almond Cranberry Squash Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
This is a good, different way to serve butternut squash. I made my own cranberry sauce and used more nuts on top. Enjoy!

Creamed Corn

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2012
It's very good, but only 4 stars because it's too saucy. Needs more corn, less sauce. But really good anyway.

Holiday Cranberry Sauce

Yummy. Great on squash, bananas, cornbread, yogurt, by the spoonful. I used ground spices because that's what I had. Tiny bit of each. Wonderful.

Almond Celery Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2012
Because I had a lot of celery, I tried this to serve as a side vegetable. Nobody like it. We all agreed that we like raw celery much better.

Oat Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2010
Are the oats the rolled kind or the Scottish Oats kind? My veggie garden is going great and will have lots of cilantro and tomatoes to use!
