Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2010
I have made this recipe a couple times and my family loves it! Being a little lazy I use the canned peaches in light syrup and it still comes out great. The topping is really good and thick. I would give it 4.5 stars but I can't figure out how. Great warm with vanilla ice cream.

Easy Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2010
The first time I made this it was terrible. I used too many noodles. The second time I used the recommended amount (I think 1.5C dry noodles yields 3C cooked noodles...rookie mistake). I also used 2 cans of tuna which I think is a must. I used a can of Cream of Chicken and a can of Cream of Mushroom. I mixed 1C of the cheese with the casserole and topped with another cup. It was pretty creamy but good.

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2010
This recipe was pretty easy to make. I used 1C chicken broth after reading other reviews. Also I used plain cream cheese. I agree with some others that it was slightly salty and very rich. However it was good, and I will make it again, next time using less seasoning and more noodles.

Delicious! I sliced a banana, mashed it, and added after the choc chips. Came up very fluffy and tasty! Haven't tried the syrup though.

Broccoli Cheese Chicken and Stuffing

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2010
Exteremely easy to make...you can't really go wrong with chicken stuffing and cheesy soup. I couldn't find the suggested Pepperidge Farm Herb seasoned stuffing so I used regular Stovetop chicken flavor. Also couldn't find brocolli and cheese soup, so I used half a can of Cheddar soup and half a can of Cream of brocolli and I used fresh brocolli instead of the frozen stuff. Turned out really good.

Black Bean, Corn and Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2010
The chili came out really good. I used olive oil (which I always do). I was a little nervous about the salsa so I used stewed tomatoes instead and I didn't have any cumin. It looked pretty watery so I put in about 1/2 C of salsa. Based on a comment I added some cornstarch to thicken the chili but it didn't work much. Definately recommend adding a can of tomato paste which worked perfectly. Also after reading about cumin being a key ingredient in southwestern chili and got some and added liberally. I let it sit on low heat for 2 more hours (after the recommended 30 min) to let the flavor soak in. Served with cornbread and delicious! Next time I will add cayanne pepper and probably half the sugar as it was a little on the sweet side for me.

Penne Pasta with Peppers

Very basic recipe. Even with much added seasoning not enough flavor for me.

Chicken Florentine Casserole

Reviewed: May 14, 2010
Pretty simple dish, I thought it came out pretty good. As suggested sauteed the spinach and mushrooms. Used milk instead of half n half. mixed half the mozzo cheese with the sauce. topped with the other half but i did from the beginning which burnt the cheese. didn't use bacon bits to make it a bit healthier. i would make it again but i dont think my gf really like it.

Incredibly Cheesy Turkey Meatloaf

Reviewed: May 24, 2010
Following others advice, I added Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, minced garlic, 1/2 onion, garlic salt. I must not have "folded" the cheese well enough as most of it was in the top of the loaf. But still tasty enough to eat. Next time I will use less onion.

Pizza Pasta

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2010
Very nice, easy recipe. Instead of pepperoni, I cooked some Italian sausage with ground turkey. Seasoned it a little. I did 4 8oz cans of tomato sauce instead of spag/pizza sauce. Mixed probably half C of cheese in with the pasta, meat and sauce and topped with the rest. It was a little tomatoey, next time I will add more spices to the sauce. Thanks for the recipe!

Brown Sugar Banana Nut Bread I

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2010
This bread came out great. I like to add honey, cinnamon and blueberries, but that is my own personal touch. The recipe itself gives a very sweet, moist bread.

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2010
I am a very novice chef so I should probably give this 5 stars as it has been reviewed by so many people. I cooked it a little too long and the sauce seemed a little oily..but the taste was GREAT! I will definately keep practicing this one.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2010
Great, easy recipe. The sauce has a very rich flavor. I followed the recipe exactly and did not find it to be too salty. I was nervous the sauce would be runny but it thickened nicely. I followed the amounts exactly and made 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts..it was just the right amount of sauce (might have had a little extra). I dumped all the sauce and baked. Next time I will do half and baste while cooking.

Easy Cajun Jambalaya

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2010
This recipe is ok. I used andouille sausage instead of keilbasa. I thought the chicken was pretty bland. You need to add a lot of salt. I also added tomato sauce for some flavor. I also did not have any bay leaves so that may be why it lacked some flavor.

Sweet-and-Sour Pork

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2010
This recipe is pretty good...it has good flavor. However, I would suggest coating the pork in flour or cornstarch. Also the sauce is pretty watery, I suggest adding some cornstarch to help thicken it. I was worried the vineagar would be too strong (based on smell) so I included the pineapple juice..I can't imagine in without it. I will try this again...hopefully the fry on the pork and the thicker sauce will make this 5 stars

Butter Brickle Frozen Delight

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2010
Wow. Very tasty dessert. I put it in a 9 x 13 pan. Had trouble serving with the crust (next time I will spray cooking oil before I bake the crust. Also would prefer a thicker crust (with some many layers of sweet). I did omit the caramel as others mentioned it is already very sweet and rich. Also next time I would make probably 25-50% more (butter brickle) as the middle layer gets lost among thhe cheese. Even after freezing over 2 nights it still starts to melt within 5 minutes of serving but tastes good even slightly melted.

Baked Paprika-Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2010
Probably should be 3.5 stars. To me 5 stars is out of this world amazing, 4 stars is excellent, so 3.5 stars means this dish was pretty good. Easy recipe. I used 1 tsp of paprika so I didn't turn off the kids. Everyone seemed to enjoy it. I personally thought the chicken itself was somewhat bland. The crunchy topping was nice. I used 1 tbsp butter to drizzle on top. I baked it for about 45 min and it was moist. I will make again for a quick easy recipe.

Very easy, tasty recipe. I added some of the seasoning into the dough itself. Next time I will add about an ounce more cheese and cut out the salt as the butter was a bit salty for me

Garlic-Lemon Double Stuffed Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
Excellent recipe. I am a novice cook so I struggled with butterflying the breasts nicely. Also because of other reviews I used very little cream cheese. Next time I will use more. Used parmesean instead of romano. The flavor of the chicken is really good and it came out pretty moist.

Chicken Piccata II

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
I found the lemon flavor to be pretty strong and the chicken was soggy even after adding it back to the sauce when it was finished. I can only imaging how it would be if it was in the sauce the whole time.
