About this Cook
I love to cook...i find it very hard to cook for a small amount of people. Mostly because what i love to make is best when made in a large amount. Makes for lots of leftovers. I have 4 kids, 3 young adults and one youngster..they are the world to me...family get togethers are my joy..I think i have taught my children well and they are very independent and resourceful. I also love to cross stitch and sew and do holiday crafting all yr long..i find that home-made gifts are more meaningful coming from the heart.
My favorite things to cook
jambalya, red beans and rice, love bbqing in the summer and holiday dinners and desserts in the winter. I like to make just about anything and my kids have their favorites that they only want mom to make..
My favorite family cooking traditions
I guess i make my own traditions with each passing yr..as the children get older ideas and desires come into play with how they would like to have a special food or trying something new that has not been done in our family..for the most part the main ingredients dont change but we add a new flair to each passing yr..
My cooking triumphs
cooking for 2. I have most of my adult life cooked for more than 10 people daily and now that number has dwindled i find it harder to cut the recipes in my head into a smaller amt.

Authentic New Orleans Red Beans and Rice
Just the smells while preparing this has my mouth watering...didn't have the creole seasoning so I used a cagun blend...and I added red pepper used chicken stock for water....

just made this...and another recipe...this one seemed to form into a ball alot better than the other one i made...i think the kids will like it...
