About this Cook
I like a lot of different foods. We are a family of 4 & go heavy on veggies & fruit. Only 1 is a big meat eater. We are all tall & thin and gave up trying to gain weight. You might think this is great but try buying jeans to fit.
My favorite things to cook
After an ex that liked nothing but plain food & no changes, I love trying new things. Love to cook with fruit. Also learned to stir fry & make chinese. Put harvest in freezer to make sure there is a variety of veggies & fruit all year.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Have to have turkey on thanksgiving. Turkey soup with stuffing muffins are a staple in winter. We make a big pot, save adding pasta until ready to eat. Always have frozen cranberries to make sauce fresh. Other special times it's a vote.
My cooking triumphs
Always trying new things now and 90% get raves. Still learning but even my daughter & her kids say "You're really turning into a good cook." Had no idea they all knew the past was boring.
My cooking tragedies
I'm so ashamed but to this day I cannot flip an egg. So they fry their own or eat scrambled or poached. Also the sweet potatoe souffle - tasted great but a fallen souffle looks horrible.

Refreshing Summer Squash Salad
Absolutely fantastic. We've done this w/peas, French string beans, spinach - have the dressing on hand at dinner time just pick, wash, mix and eat. Don't know why we haven't tried squash before. Thank you.

Super Scrambled Eggs Number One
I always try to do things ahead of time, "just in case.....". I cook my bacon when I get it, drain & put it in a Zippy bag in the freezer, 30 sec. in the nuker makes it hot & ready to use(perfect for BLT's). We use water instead of milk(fluffier) Fantastic & quick.

Thanksgiving Leftovers Monkey Bread
Now I can't wait till a snowy day. Rec. looks like t takes time to prepare. I would use either potatoes w/sautéed onion & celery & chopped spinach or stuffing w/tiny pcs of broccoli & add craisinettes to mixtures. What a perfect after snow or freezing day movie night dinner. Sure beats the sound of pizza. Thanks. I'm saving this.
