Luscious Slush Punch
Just a a gauge, I love slush. Richie's, Lindy's, Del's, Sonic,Dairy Queen sweetness are fine with me. This though, I am puzzled as to how it got the high ratings. I followed the recipe exactly. Once you pour in the ginger ale it turns the perfect slush consistency! Even if you skip the two and one half cups of sugar, it would still be sickening sweet! And I like sweet but not this sweet. Even the flavor combo of pineapple and cherry is not all that great in itself.

Rempel Family Meatloaf
This is a staple recipe I use once a month or so now. I was really surprised with the last low review but I will share my changes and that may even help the last reviewers feeling it was greasy: Most of the time I make this with ground turkey. Now and then when I have a hankering for beefy flavor I will do beef but this really is a good one to try replacing with healthier turkey. If you have never used turkey and want to start being healthier, do half beef half turkey and slowly get the family converted : ) The other thing I change is I never cook it in a loaf/bread pan. If you used a fattier cut of ground beef and cooked it in a loaf pan it will be swimming in grease and perhaps thats what happened to the last reviewer. I just shape the meat mix (which is sort of sloppy and less firm than other meatloaf mixes) into a loaf shape and bake in a greased or pammed 11x 7 pan. I usually frost the loaves before cooking lightly with ketchup or bbq sauce. Ohh and if I am short on time I shape it into six mini loaves that are about 6"x2" (dollar bill size) top with ketchup and they are done in about 25-30 mins

Cabbage Beef Soup
This was really good. Even my fussy 8 year old liked it. Basically he will only eat broccoli cheese soup or chili, no other soups. Personally my family would like it with more of the tasty broth. I also thought I would like some peeled chopped potato in it. It does hint at tasting like a chili and I might consider cutting back on the cumin sometimes also. Very yummy comfort food. Ohh I also did not have a 24oz tomato sauce so I used a 28 oz can Pastene ground tomatoes.
