Chicken Noodle Soup

I took other reviewers' suggestions of using a whole onion, and using chicken broth instead of bullion and water. Otherwise I followed the recipe and it was delicious. My husband and son each ate thirds! Definitely a keeper!

Holiday Chicken Salad

This has become my go-to recipe for chicken salad. It is very good exactly as is, but is also a great starting place for making it your own. I often make it without the celery or green pepper, but I add diced onion.

Fruited Ice Cream

This ice cream was delicious and easy to make. I used bing cherries and almond extract in place of the strawberries and vanilla. Half the recipe is about right for my 1.5 quart ice cream maker. I will definitely make this recipe again.

Baked Potato Skins

These were delicious. I made 34 skins for our NYE party tonight and only 2 were left by the end of the night. Per another reviewer, I coated the insides of the skins with the oil/cheese mixture and baked for 7 minutes, then turned the skins over, coated the backs, and baked for 7 minutes more. I needed 2 recipes worth of the oil/cheese mixture (one to coat the fronts, and one for the backs), but I didn't need to increase it nearly as much as I expected for the amount that I was doing. We also sprinkled diced tomatoes on top as they came out of the oven.

English Muffin Bread

This bread was really delicious with butter and jam. However, I had an issue with the instructions. It said to "immediately" remove from the pan to cool. I tried with the first loaf, and half the loaf stuck in the pan. I let the second loaf cool for 10 minutes in the pan before removing it from the pan. That worked much better.

Pollo Fajitas

We've made this several times and love them. I leave out the hot sauce, because it bothers my stomach, but they're still great. I also like to throw in some sliced and seeded roma tomatoes for the last minute or two of cooking.

Easy Ice Cream Sandwiches

Delicious! I made them per the instructions, except I made the cookies in 1" balls based on previous comments. I also froze the cookies prior to filling them to make them easier to handle.

White Chocolate Blondies

Made the recipe with the following changes: substituted butterscotch chips for the chocolate chips, added 1/2 cup toasted pecans. Very sweet, but delicious. Were even better the second day, so next time, I will make them the night before.

Fried Chicken with Creamy Gravy

I've never fried chicken (nor anything else) before, but this came out great! It got thumbs up from my family. Per some other reviewers' suggestions, I used 1-1/2 cups of oil. I used chicken tenders instead of whole chicken pieces, so mine didn't take as long to cook either. I served the gravy over rice with steamed broccoli on the side. Thanks for a great recipe.

Beer Bread I

Very good! My guests thought it was Tastefully Simple's beer bread. I won't pay $5/mix ever again when this is so easy. As suggested by other commenters suggested, I "made my own" self-rising flour. (Replaced 3 cups of self-rising flour with 3 cups regular flour PLUS 3 tsp baking powder PLUS 1-1/2 tsp salt.)

Peanut Butter and Banana Dog Biscuits

These were a hit with our yellow lab -- and with my kids (almost 5 and 8). They've eaten almost as many as the dog's eaten! As recommended by previous posters, I substituted oatmeal for the wheat germ (didn't have any) and rolled the dough into balls and flattened with a fork instead of rollling/cutting (easier for DD to help with). They came out looking like tiny peanut-butter cookies.

Bacon Wrapped Smokies

I personally didn't love these, but I'm giving it 5 stars anyway because my guests sure loved them! This was the only thing that was totally eaten at our party tonight. Although it takes a little time to wrap and bake, they were easy to make and everyone thought they were delicious. Per the suggestions in the other comments, I turned up the heat for the last 15 minutes (then broiled for a couple of minutes) to get my bacon crispier. I hate chewy bacon!

Taylor's Piroshki

I really enjoyed this recipe. I'm a beginner cook and even I managed not to screw it up! :) These taste very similar to the piroshki I remember eating in Moscow. My son needs to make a Russian dish for a school project, and he really liked these. I changed the recipe for the filling just a bit -- I used 1 lb. of ground beef, 1/2 lb. of mushrooms, and the onion. I also put the ground beef through the food processor after I cooked it, to make it very fine. (The ones we had in Moscow had a very finely chopped filling.) Very good! :)
