About this Cook
Been cooking and loving it since I was eight. My aunt was my cooking mentor. I love eating out occasionally but was recently was advised to follow a Gluten-Free Diet. I'm learning to make G.F. bread, etc., etc. Happily, my favourite restaurant are Asian one's: Baram Bunei, a Korean gem in International Village and Joya Sushi, a friendly, delicious place with take-out and eat in in unpretentious surrounding but comfortable and attractive. Joya is in West Hamilton. (All the minimalist fixtures in Joya were purchased from Korea.) Asian food is great, mostly Gluten-Free. Hey, I plan to continue to eat magnificently!!

Baking shortbread, following a recipe from my Scots Granny and tourtiere, my French-Canadian mother's recipe. Have to sub new pastry recipes for these favourites...

A ghastly Tex-Mex recipe prepared when I was a bride trying to please my new husband. It was so gruesome, I threw it out and didn't serve it.

Eggplant and Ground Beef Lasagna
Outstanding recipe with or without the lasagne noodles.Eggplant and mushrooms are a wonderful taste combination. I used Cheddar and Asiago cheese because that's what was handy.

Creamy Kale Salad
Great recipe. I 'massaged' the torn kale in a bowl with a dash of kosher salt for 2-3 minutes to break down the fibres and make it more toothsome. I also added 1 Tbsp. of tahini to the dressing for an even creamier version and added dried cranberries. Thank you for an inspirational recipe!

Sweet and Savory Kale
I made this recipe with beautiful late harvest organically grown kale. The marriage of mustard, broth, and cider vinegar is inspired and the dried cranberries and nuts further elevate this succulent side dish. I could eat this often. This is an ace recipe!
