Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2012
I just made this after seeing it as 'Recipe of the Day' yesterday. Delicious!! I read the reviews and made a few changes...i used 1/2c mayo, 1/2c sour cream, 1 packet ranch dressing mix, other seasonings as directed in recipe. I used a shortcut and used real bacon bits. Added frozen peas and a little more olives, cheese and tomatoes (whole cherry tomatoes). My family is raving about it!

Christmas Red Pickles

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2012
These were AWESOME! Yes, they take time, but it's well worth it. I'm currently pregnant and craving cinnamon pickles. The only place I found to purchase any wants $12 a jar after shipping! Being a farmer's daughter, I always have access to fresh cucumbers in the summer. I will definitely make more of these!!

Baked Potato Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2011
A delicious twist on potato salad. I love making it with red skin potatoes (unpeeled of course), and in a pinch I'll use a package to 1 1/2 pakages of the real bacon bits. I don't use any mayonnaise though. Also, try adding a tablespoon or two of melted butter, it really kicks the taste up a bit.

Cold Crawfish Dip

Very good! It was a little expensive to make, as the crawfish tails can be hard to find around here. All in all worth it though.

Cherry Bourbon Balls

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2011
Very yummy!! Like some of the other reviewers, I chopped up the cherries and put in the main mix instead of just in the center. This will become a holiday regular of mine.

Cookies 'n' Creme Fudge

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2011
Delicious! A little piece of this goes a long way as it is very sweet. I took the advice of others and used a butter knife to cut the oreos into 5-6 pieces and discarded the tiny crumbs.

Brown Sugar Smokies

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2011
I took these to a super bowl party this year, they were gone in seconds! I wrapped the little smokies with bacon and put them on skewers then rolled the skewers in brown sugar. I broiled them until crispy on one side, flipped, then broiled the other side. They turned out crispy and delicious!

Garlic and Herb Marinade

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2011
Great starter recipe that can be easily modified to suit your tastes. I left out the poultry seasoning and added more thyme, rosemary and added oregano. Very yummy and chicken was very tender on the grill!

Margarita Marinade

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
Excellent!! I've used this marinade on chicken and shrimp, both excellent. I can't wait to try it on fish. I did use more lime juice (about 1/2 cup) and an extra tablespoon of honey, and bumped it up to 2 teaspoons cumin since we love it.

Sweet Party Mix

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
Super easy and got rave reviews of everyone who tried it! I modified the recipe a little, used half a box each of chex cereal and plain cheerios, half a bag of mini pretzles, salted roasted peanuts...baked as directed, then added golden raisins and M&Ms. Everyone wanted the recipe!

Green Bean Fries

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
The first time I made these, I fried them. They turned out too greasy. The next time I made them, I did like other reviewers and baked at 350 for 15 minutes or so. They were great this way!! This will definitely be a keeper in my family!

Cream Cheese Won Tons

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
After reading the reviews, I tried baking these. I was not impressed. The filling (which I used imitation crab meat instead of clams, and was wonderful on it's own) leaked out (even after sealing with a little beaten egg) and the won tons were left hollow and pretty bland. I will try this again at some point and deep fry them to see if they turn out any better that way

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
This was a total hit!! I modified it a little, I used kiwi, granny smith apples, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and frozen no sugar added peaches. I also didn't use the brown sugar, and used orange marmalade. It was WONDERFUL!!! This summer I will make a big batch with fresh, local fruit and freeze it. I used a pizza cutter to cut the tortillas into 6 pieces, and sprayed with butter pam, sprinkled with cinnamon sugar, then sprayed again. The chips were perfect! I love them on their own. They are great even with just one side with the butter/cinnamon sugar

Excellent and very easy with ingredients I keep on hand at all times! Next time I won't use quite the amount of ground cloves as they can be pretty potent stuff, but otherwise awesome recipe!

Apple Butter Pork Loin

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2010
I made this last night, using a 3lb pork loin. I doubled the apple butter, brown sugar and spices since we like lots of 'sauce' and i wanted to make a gravy out of it. I dont understand why others say cooking the pork this long dries it out. I cooked mine at 350 for 1 hour in the apple juice, then spread the apple butter mixture over, cooked for another 2 hours, covered. it was so incredibly moist and just melted in our mouth. my husband raved about it, says it is the best thing he's ever eaten! like one of the previous reviewers said, i served this with the Cinnamon Rice with Apples from this site, perfect compliment to the flavors.
