Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2013
OMG!! I grew up eating homemade pancakes and this is the only one I love as much as mom's! :) In fact mom showed me her recipe and the only difference was using white vinegar in the milk to "sour"!! I would highly recommend the "soured" milk because of the awesome tasted of these pancakes. And even though I do not like to change anything in theses recipe, I had to use apple cider vinegar because I did not have any white on hand. I used the same amount and these were WONDERFUL!!!!! I am not always a big pancake eater, but these are a keeper!! I had leftover batter and used it this morning, I added a few drops of vanilla extract and they were just as delicious this morning as they were yesterday!!! Thank you for such a yummy post!!!!

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2012
Not sure if I rated this yet, but it is a definite keeper!!!! Just a wonderful recipe that I have used more than a dozen times as icing my sour cream coffee cake. A recipe that I have been using for years!!! Just for personal preference I use 3 cups of powdered sugar instead of 4 because I do love the taste of cream cheese in the frosting. Which is, by the way, is not too "cream cheesey" for me!! Highly recommend trying this one!

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2011
This is an excellent recipe!!!!! I only used 3 cups of powdered sugar because I prefer that taste. I think that it is all up to how much sweetness you want in the frosting, but this is truly a keeper!!!! I just made this and am going to use it to frost a sour cream coffee cake. Thank you!! :D

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
OMG!!!! These are wonderful!!! A co-worker told me about this recipe and how easy it was to make!! She was absolutely right. My youngest sis makes the best homemade chicken & dumplings I have ever had, but these came right behind hers!!. I work long hours during the week and this made my life so much easier. I like to stick exactly to the recipes I find on this sight, but the 2 things I changed on this was using only 1 can of biscuits and I made my own chicken broth using chicken boullion cube. I would recommend this recipe to anyone!! YUMMY!!! p.s. I put the biscuits in about 1 1/2 hours before serving and they turned out perfect.

Turkey or Ham Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2010
OMG!!! These are wonderful. However, I did not use fat free cream cheese or mayo....just don't prefer the taste of either, but I used light cream cheese and Hellman's mayo. I also left out the dill for taste preferences. I took these to mom's for the 4th celebration and cut them in small peices to place on a tray and it was gone in less than an hour and there had to be 50 or so pieces all together. I will definitely make these again!!!

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2010
I have to admit that I thought this was a bizarre recipe for stuffed mushrooms, but I stand humby corrected!!!! These are wonderful!!!!! I made them just as the recipe called and took them to my euchre group for them to try and they ate everyone!!!! I used all of the mix as well because I had 20 mushroom caps to fill!!! I would like to try other foods in the recipe in the future, but I, as the other reviews have said, would go exactly by the recipe for the first time!!! Would highly recommend this recipe!!! To update my review, I made these for my (very large) family on Easter Sunday and did not change a thing and they were even bettter the second time around!!! You have to try these to see how great they taste. I even used low fat cream cheese for the family currently involved in a "biggest loser" competition and they were still just as great!!!

Reuben Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2009
Excellent and EASY recipe. I made this the first time lest evening (12/11/09) for my company Christmas party. I used them and my "guinea pigs" and they Loved it!!! The only thing I did at all different from the recipe was added about 1/4 cup more of the dressing and mayo. I used the packaged very thin sliced corned beef and it tasted wonderful. I usually make mini reubens which is very time consuming, but if you are in a time crunch this a wondeful alternative to the traditional reuben. I used the mini Jewish rye bread and it tasted fabulous!!

McCormick's BLT Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2006
This dip is Fabulous!!! I am from a very large family so I doubled it. Only 2 things I did different. I only added 1 tsp. of onion powder to the doubled recipe and I cooked 1 Lb. of bacon and added 1 cup of Hormel real bacon. There was not a bite left at the end of the evening. I used sliced baguette pieces and Fritos scoops. One more note, if you forget the onion in this recipe, it is still just as delicious. (I forgot it the second time I made it). This one is definitely a keeper!! YUM!!! p.s. on this recipe, I would suggest that you use bread to dip this one with, because the Fritos or crackers tend to make it way too salty. And if you are on a low carb diet, I toast slices of low carb wheat which was just as delicious!

Bacon Wrapped Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2006
I've had this in my recipe box for a while and just now tried. It was Excellent!! I usually try to stick to the exact recipe, but I did not have the chives to go with the cream cheese and I used maple flavored bacon instead of regular. I thought it was pretty easy and the tasted was wonderful!

Cream Cheese Pound Cake III

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2006
This is an excellent pound cake recipe. I made it just as recipe called and it is wonderful!! The only thing I had to do different was place extra batter in a loaf pan because my bundt pan is smaller (9" instead of 10") than what recipe called for and it still tastes Great!! and came out perfect. Thanks Nanci!!

Best Ever Party Appetizer

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2006
This is an excellent recipe except for putting it on bread. That part was a little difficult for everyone, but we all enjoyed the taste. I may try mixing the goat cheese with a little cream cheese to make it more "spreadable" for the bread.

Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2005
I have to say this is very good pumpkin pie. I myself am not a pumpkin pie eater, but my husband is. The only thing he commented on was it was a little dry as if I may have baked it too long, but he says the flavor is very good! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Bacon and Tomato Cups

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2005
This recipe is Wonderful!! I did make one change though, I used flaky style biscuits and seperated them in thirds instead of halves so they were not so "bready", so I did run out of mix quicker. I took these to a Halloween party at my mom's. I had about 3 dozen of them on a tray and they were gone in about 10 minutes!! I already added this one to my recipe box! and plan on making them for my cards group. Thanks!

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2005
These brownies were WONDERFUL!!! I agree with the review that said how could you give this recipe less than 5 stars. I am not much on brownies, but I could not leave these alone. I did double the recipe and add 5 eggs instead of 4 because my hubby likes cake-like brownies and they were still unbelievably moist. And have yet to make them with the frosting, which I will try the next time. Definitely a keeper!! Thank you!!

Beer Bread I

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2005
This is an excellent recipe. It tastes just like the "popular expensive" recipe that I have purchased in the past. 2 things you have to remember though, you need to use at least 1/3 C. of sugar and if you do not have self-rising flour and you are using all-purpose flour use 3 tsp. of baking powder and 1 1/2 tsp. of salt. Also, as the boxed recipe calls for, only mix together until moist. Do not overmix. I served 2 loaves at a Superbowl party and no one would have known the difference had I not told them. Thank you for such a Wonderful, inexpensive recipe.

Easy Pepperoni Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2004
This is an excellent recipe. I made my own homemade bread from my Kitchen Aid mixer so I proofed up the bread again after adding pepperoni and cheese. I also had (warm) pizza sauce for dipping the bread. I brought this to my euchre group and they ate the entire loaf. I revised this with just one more step. I put a light coat of the pizza sauce on the bread before placing the pepperoni and cheese on the and it gave it even better flavor than before. I continue to make this for different functions and it is always a hit!!

Christmas Breakfast Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2004
This is, so far, the BEST breakfast casserole I have ever made. It is about the 4th one I have tried and it was WONDERFUL!! We had friends over for Easter morning breakfast and they raved about how delicious it was. I thinks mixing all of the ingredients instead of layering each one is the secret. Also, added more meat than what was called for. I added about a cup of bacon bits and being from the N. Ky./Cincinnati area I also added about 1lb of goetta. I also put more cheese on top during the last 10-15 min. of baking. Thanks! p.s. this is also an extremely easy recipe to make.

Chocolate Covered Easter Eggs

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2004
These have a very good taste, but were a little more time consuming than I thought. I did like the versatility of different items to mix and different tastes. And humbly I think I need lessons on how to properly dip into melted chocolate, because I found that somewhat difficult.
