About this Cook
My name is Jean and I am one of 15 children. I am # 8 of the 15 and I also have identical twin sister named Joan. I am married to a wonderful man Mark we do not have any children, but I have 51 nieces and nephews and almost 61 great nieces and nephews and my mom is the most WONDERFUL, AWESOME mom in the whole world!! So was my dad!! but he is is now with the Lord. We miss him very much.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook about anything, but what I seem to be the greatest at is desserts and appetizers. I love to cook for other people, especially my family.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Definitely Christmas desserts. I make cookie tins filled with "goodies" for my neighbors and my family. I do also bake for just about every other holiday and it is either desserts or appetizers.
My cooking triumphs
Holiday desserts: chocolate chip cookies, buckeyes, etc.. Homemade breads, banana, white bread, etc... I also am a big fan of making new appetizers!! I make my huge family the "taste testers" to see if they are keepers or not.
My cooking tragedies
Homemade biscuits, Fried chicken.

Fluffy Pancakes
OMG!! I grew up eating homemade pancakes and this is the only one I love as much as mom's! :) In fact mom showed me her recipe and the only difference was using white vinegar in the milk to "sour"!! I would highly recommend the "soured" milk because of the awesome tasted of these pancakes. And even though I do not like to change anything in theses recipe, I had to use apple cider vinegar because I did not have any white on hand. I used the same amount and these were WONDERFUL!!!!! I am not always a big pancake eater, but these are a keeper!! I had leftover batter and used it this morning, I added a few drops of vanilla extract and they were just as delicious this morning as they were yesterday!!! Thank you for such a yummy post!!!!

Cream Cheese Frosting II
Not sure if I rated this yet, but it is a definite keeper!!!! Just a wonderful recipe that I have used more than a dozen times as icing my sour cream coffee cake. A recipe that I have been using for years!!! Just for personal preference I use 3 cups of powdered sugar instead of 4 because I do love the taste of cream cheese in the frosting. Which is, by the way, is not too "cream cheesey" for me!! Highly recommend trying this one!

Basic Cream Cheese Frosting
This is an excellent recipe!!!!! I only used 3 cups of powdered sugar because I prefer that taste. I think that it is all up to how much sweetness you want in the frosting, but this is truly a keeper!!!! I just made this and am going to use it to frost a sour cream coffee cake. Thank you!! :D
