Grandma's Slow Cooker Vegetarian Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2011
Delicious! Forgot the corn: not heartbroken. I don't like tomatoes as a general rule so I used only puree. Instead of black bean soup I used a can of black beans with the juice and added another half cup of water. The vegetable and seasoning proportions worked well. I stopped eating meat eight months ago and sometimes I really miss it. This satisfies.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2013
Excellent. My husband and I don't eat meat so I used chopped spinach and mushrooms as an additional layer, and I used gluten free noodles. It tasted great. I'm not sure you can mess this recipe up. It's easy and straight ahead. Thanks!

Boston Baked Beans

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2013
These beans are delicious. Instead of bacon I use a tsp. of liquid smoke and a generous pour of maple syrup. I put everything in the crockpot and let it simmer overnight or all day. Then I let it sit for a few hours. They get better and better as time goes on. Thanks for a great recipe!

Garbanzo Bean Chocolate Cake (Gluten Free!)

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2012
Very good cake. I took another reviewer's advice and removed the skins from the beans. I let the cooked cake sit in the fridge overnight and it came out with a fudge cake consistency. My husband loves cherry pie but can't eat the crust so I made the filling (Cherry Pie III from allrecipies.com) and used it as a topping. With whipped cream it tasted like Black Forest. It was a Happy Thanksgiving!

Cream of Tomato Gorgonzola Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2013
This is a nice base. I used 28oz can tomato puree and 28oz can crushed tomatoes;I replaced milk with almond milk; added sugar, black pepper, salt. I used the basil, onion powder, garlic, cheese, and liquid in the given amounts, and let it sit for several hours. Good stuff.

Lentils and Rice with Fried Onions (Mujadarrah)

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2013
This is delicious! I had split red lentils and basmati rice cooked in vegetable broth. Put it together with Greek yogurt, a Thai cucumber salad, and the onions (I used butter and vietnamese cinnamon). I finish where I started: delicious!
