American Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2004
This is good. I used italian sausage as a matter of preference. I also tossed in some cottage cheese to the ricotta mixture because I needed to use it. The "sauce" was my favorite part.

Chicken With Mushrooms

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2002
This is a nice recipe, good to serve for company. It makes a nice presentation on the plate and is flavorful. Besides, who doesn't like melted cheese on their main course?

Cranberry Orange Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2002
These are great cookies! I tried a variation and used white chocolate chips in lieu of the frosting and pecans instead of walnuts. Delicious! Everyone loves them!

Chicken Fiesta Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2002
This is a very tasty salad and a great change from ordinary Taco Salad. It's also very flexible. I made a couple additions- avocado, cilantro, and mango. Also I found a jalepeno ranch dressing in the produce section at the store and put it on the side. Delicious! Don't forget the tortilla chips!

Easy Broccoli Quiche

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2002
This recipe was easy and turned out very nice. Would be good for company. You can easily add crumbled bacon or diced ham if you prefer your quiche with that flavor. Would not hesitate to make this again.

Love this salad! Just the right amount of sweet, crunch, and the bitterness of the cheese. Terrific.

Tropical Salad with Pineapple Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2003
This salad is amazingly tasty. I really enjoyed the combination of flavors. If you enjoy sweet, savory, and crunchy with a variety of textures in your salad, definitely give this a try. Yum!

Mandarin Orange Cake I

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2004
I made this for my son's first birthday party and it was a big hit with everyone, especially my son who had it plastered all over his face and hands! Very moist and not too sweet.

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2001
This is a very good one-course meal. We made some seasoning adjustments, which is to be expected with a spicy dish. We added more Cajun seasoning as well as salt. I also thickened the sauce just a bit. Overall, an excellent and easy recipe.

Firecracker Grilled Alaska Salmon

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2001
This is a delicious recipe with Japanese flare. I used less peanut oil, but otherwise followed the recipe. Instead of grilling, since it's winter, I broiled the filets for about 8 minutes. They were delicious.

Yummy Eggnog Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2001
Instead of folding in the whipped cream, I made it a double layer, with the egg nog flavored custard on the bottom and the whipped cream on top. Very good and gives a better presentation.

Robert E. Lee's Orange Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2002
This recipe is very easy and very good. I don't usually like meringue pies, but this one is unique and delicious. Oranges are abundant this time of year, so I was looking for something using fresh orange. This fit the bill. There is no wonder this pie recipe has been around so long!

Mediterranean Crusted Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2002
Was a very nice and tasty chicken dish. Next time I will add a bit more salt to the breading and leave the foil off longer in baking- the "crust" was kind of soggy. Otherwise, very good.

Absolute Mexican Cornbread

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2003
This is great cornbread! I cut the recipe in half for just me and my husband and I used fresh jalepeno instead of canned green chilies because I had it on hand. It was moist and flavorful. I served it with Black Bean Soup. Will definitely use again.

Chicken and Broccoli Braid

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2004
This is a fun recipe. You have to make it quickly though because the dough gets too soft and begins to fall apart when assembled. To make it more kid-friendly for my son's birthday party, I made it with pizza sauce, pepperoni, and mozzarella cheese instead of the chicken and broccoli. Yum! It was the first thing to disappear at the party.

Amy's Garlic Egg Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2001
Yummy yummy! This chicken is tender and VERY flavorful! There was leftover breading as other reviewers had mentioned, but I sprinkled it on during the turning process and there wasn't too much wasted. I also used fresh parsley instead of dry. DELICIOUS!

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2001
I made this recipe last Thanksgiving with some variations. I used apple cider for half of the liquid and omitted the apples. I also combined some dry cornbread cubes with the regular with added flavor and texture. It was delicious. This year I may omit the sausage to save on fat.

Candied Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2003
After reading the many reviews that claimed the breading got soggy, I decided to go ahead and make the chicken by skipping the breading step. I cooked the chicken in the sauce and it was delicious over white rice. Very good. I may try it again in the future with the breading step, but I can't see how it won't get soggy.

Restaurant-Style Tequila Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2003
I used the ranch dressing and salsa mixture as other reviewers suggested and it was delicious (plus it really simplified things!). For extra lime flavor, I squeezed fresh lime juice over the top just before serving and also garnished with a few slices of avocado. Yummy. My husband loves it!
