Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2002
This is a very flavorful dish and I was surprised how well the flavors went together. To reduce saltiness a bit, you could use less of the dressing mix. Also, my sauce was pretty thick, so I will think it up a little next time. Otherwise very tasty. Be sure to serve with a colorful salad or side because it doesn't look the best by itself.

Pizza Dough II

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2002
This is a pretty good dough recipe, but I've had better. It rises well and gave me no problem in preparing. If you're looking for a recipe that works, but isn't terribly impressive taste-wise, go for it.

Spicy Red Bean Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2002
This soup is a lot more sweet than spicy, probably because of the amount of ketchup in it. It is somewhat reminiscent of baked beans. Anyhow, it was not what we expected, and it was quite a lot of work for not a very impressive meal. Will not be making this again.

Artichoke Spinach Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2002
This recipe was good, but not great. The spinach and artichokes kind of get lost in the sauce. Perhaps keeping them as a separate layer might be better. Also, the flavored feta was not the best. Next time I would use plain feta instead, as my husband and I love feta. Might be better with an alfredo as others have tried. Probably won't make this again. At least not how it's written.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2002
I made these for Christmas morning and they are perfect! Just the rich dough and sweetness I was looking for! The next time I will bake longer at a lower heat to make sure they cook all the way through the middle, but besides that they're fantastic!

Chicken With Mushrooms

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2002
This is a nice recipe, good to serve for company. It makes a nice presentation on the plate and is flavorful. Besides, who doesn't like melted cheese on their main course?

Robert E. Lee's Orange Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2002
This recipe is very easy and very good. I don't usually like meringue pies, but this one is unique and delicious. Oranges are abundant this time of year, so I was looking for something using fresh orange. This fit the bill. There is no wonder this pie recipe has been around so long!

Cola Pot Roast II

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2002
Made this for my husband's birthday. We had guests over and everyone raved, especially about the gravy. The flavor is great, not just boring old pot roast. This is a keeper.

Firecracker Grilled Alaska Salmon

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2001
This is a delicious recipe with Japanese flare. I used less peanut oil, but otherwise followed the recipe. Instead of grilling, since it's winter, I broiled the filets for about 8 minutes. They were delicious.

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2001
My husband, who usually doesn't care for pork, enjoyed this recipe. The only thing we would probably do different next time is thicken the sauce quite a bit. Otherwise, a fun and yummy meal.

Suki's Spinach and Feta Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2001
This is a very good and healthy dish. My husband, who is traditionally a meat lover, really likes this recipe. The spinach cooks down quite a bit; next time I will probably add more and also some more mushrooms. It's very colorful and tasty. Other reviewers thought the feta to be too much, but it's really the main flavor of the dish. Highly recommend if you love feta cheese.

Eggnog Thumbprints

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2001
My husband and I love eggnog, but neither of us were impressed with these cookies. The cookie part was a little too dense and firm for my taste, probably because of the lack of baking soda or powder in the recipe. I prefer a soft cookie. The frosting part is good, but doesn't make a very good presentation if just spooned into the cookie, as suggested. I took these to a Christmas Party on a tray with other homemade cookies, and these were the only ones still left over at the end. I will not make these again.

Yummy Eggnog Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2001
Instead of folding in the whipped cream, I made it a double layer, with the egg nog flavored custard on the bottom and the whipped cream on top. Very good and gives a better presentation.

Baked Scallops

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2001
This is a delicious and easy recipe for scallops. We used bay scallops and they turned out perfect. Makes an elegant meal in no time (and little work).

Caramel Filled Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2001
My husband really likes these cookies. I didn't find the dough difficult to work with; I just put it in the freezer for 30 minutes before shaping. They are very rich, I could only eat one at a time. I used Rolos and was pleased with the result. Next time I may try different nuts, like cashews perhaps.

Sugar Glazed Salmon

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2001
I've had much better salmon. The flavors were odd together (my husband and I usually like a sweet glaze) and not at all appealing. The vinegar was strong, and in my opinion, doesn't belong with a subtle tasting fish. I will not make this again. It ruined a perfectly good filet. I recommend "Baked Dijon Salmon" instead.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2001
I made this recipe last Thanksgiving with some variations. I used apple cider for half of the liquid and omitted the apples. I also combined some dry cornbread cubes with the regular with added flavor and texture. It was delicious. This year I may omit the sausage to save on fat.

Delicious Turkey Glaze

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2001
We made this last Thanksgiving (with regular apple cider) and it is delicious! This Christmas, my husband is demanding that we have it again and not try any other glazes. During cooking, the cider flavor gets into the stuffing as well (if you stuff your turkey) and makes it even more delicious! Enjoy!

Crayfish or Shrimp Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2001
This is very good dish, especially for such a simple recipe. I used half and half and wisked in 1 tablespoon flour for thickness. In the future, I may try adding some fresh garlic. Also, if your cajun/creole seasoning doesn't have salt added, be sure to add some salt!
