Delicious Apple Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2011
I had no idea applesauce was so easy! I used a dash of nutmeg and only 1 tbsp brown sugar. Also, instead of shredding the apples, I just cored/sliced them and simmered them with water and spices, covered, until soft. Then I used a potato masher to break them up into smallish chunks, about 1 cubic cm. The texture was great, the taste was great. BEWARE: this recipe makes only enough for one big helping or two smallish helpings. People *will* want this when they smell it cooking, so make enough!

Cabbage and Noodles

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2010
Great recipe! This is what I did: Used a bit less bacon grease as some other cooks recommended (about two tbsp) Added some parmesan cheese on top- this really added a good touch in my opinion! I loved it, my girlfriend thought it could use a light drizzling of a cream sauce- it's up to you!

Hazel's Meatballs

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2011
Awesome meatballs! I used a bit less ketchup and a little less brown sugar (about 2/3 of the recommended amount for each). They came out just great, even my girlfriend loved them, and she is the pickiest person I know! I drained some of the grease, too.

Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2011
This was delicious, though it might be less kid-friendly. I cooked the beef first about half-through and drained the grease. Also I found that the can of soup was only about 2/3 of what I wanted... I don't like a lot of sauce, but even still I wound up short. I used spaghetti sauce at a pinch and it worked out just fine.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2012
I did not (and never do) peel the apples. I also did not use Granny Smith. If you are wondering "need I peel them?" the answer is a resounding "No!" They will be healthier, and you can't even notice the skin is there! Admittedly, I slice each piece of apple into three. This recipe is excellent.
